  • Patent number: 4003067
Abstract: Camera exposure control apparatus utilizing an electronic timing circuit connected to an electromagnet for controlling, through a drive member, the movement of a shutter which opens and closes to establish an exposure interval. A latch, actuated by movement of the drive member to open the shutter, opens a switch to de-energize the electromagnet and moves into position to hold the drive member to prevent its movement to close the shutter during the time interval that the electromagnet is de-energized. Following a subsequent energization of the electromagnet the latch is released and the drive member moves to close the shutter.

  • Patent number: 4003062
Abstract: A camera adapted to selectively receive and expose film having different effective film speeds, under both ambient and artificial illumination, the film speed being encoded on film carrying means, includes apparatus to move a filter into the exposure path of a lens axis of the camera when a flash unit is mounted on the camera and apparatus to sense the encoded film speed and to prevent the movement of the filter into the exposure path if film of relatively low speed is in the camera.

  • Patent number: 4000497
Abstract: A camera of the type that receives a film cartridge in a cartridge receptacle and secures the cartridge by a door is provided with apparatus for regulating exposure in response to the combination of (1) sensing a film speed indicator carried by the cartridge and (2) closure of the receptacle door. When a cartridge is inserted into the receptacle and a predetermined film speed indicator is present, an indicator sensing member positions an intermediate lever in a ready position to adjust the exposure regulating apparatus. During closure of the receptacle door, a driver element, located to be engaged and moved when the receptacle door is closed further positions the intermediate lever, which in turn adjusts the exposure regulating apparatus.

  • Patent number: 3952317
Abstract: A camera shutter has opening and closing blades mounted to be sequentially moved to effect exposure of film in the camera. The opening blade moves to permit an exposure to begin and the closing blade is retained, by a light responsive electromagnetic circuit, in a position to permit the exposure to continue for a duration related to scene brightness. An armature, controlled by the electromagnetic circuit, engages the closing blade and is engaged by the opening blade throughout a portion of its opening movement, thus preventing release of the closing blade prior to the opening blade reaching a preset position in its movement. In the event that the electromagnet is inoperative, the delay of the closing blade is determined by the time that the opening blade engages the armature.
