Abstract: A rod secured across the width of the guitar peghead by a plurality of spaced apart fasteners, the rod having a roller disposed thereon for each guitar string, with each roller receiving a string between the roller and the peghead, and means for securing the rollers to the rod, such that when strings are pressed down above the string nut and released they will easily slide back to their original position, thereby allowing the playing of special effects above the fretboard.
Abstract: A panel having a rear wall is movably secured to the lower portion of a guitar body by a pair of screws allowing it to be moved toward and away from the guitar body. A sliding member is disposed in the panel under each guitar string, with a string contacting member secured on top of each slidable member and itself being slidable laterally thereon. Accordingly, guitar strings can be adjusted up and down the guitar, toward and away from the body, and across the fretboard, to thereby achieve optimum intonation and playability.
Abstract: A U-shaped acrylic body is separated at its closed end and slideably connected by means of a turnbuckle to allow lateral adjustment, the acrylic body further having a palatal wire extending into the palatal area of the mouth, buccal wires emerging from the outer sides and extending in a rectangular construction parallel thereto, and cuspid guidance wires emerging perpendicularly from the outer sides. The palatal wire is separated at its approximate midpoint in the palatal area and slideably connected, such that when the appliance is positioned in the mouth adjacent the inner sides of the teeth the wearer can make periodic lateral adjustments.
Abstract: A nylon stocking having a toe opening and inner and outer toe closing bands adjacent thereto, the inner band extending across the inside of the sole portion and the outer band extending over the toe portion, each band being sewn at its ends to the sides of the stocking. From a closed position, with the toes extending under the inner band, the outer band is first pulled up and over the toes toward the instep, and the inner band is then pulled up and down under the toes, leaving the toes completely uncovered for taping, massaging, or the like.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for strapping ingot moulds by forcing roughly pre-formed strap sections into pressure contact around the mark of the mould which is to be strapped, and welding the joints between the sections to form a complete strap. The apparatus includes the frame, with two generally C-shaped portions hinged together to form a bar which can be closed around a mould, the frame carrying hydraulic rams at spaced intervals for pressing the strap sections against the mould.
Abstract: A bowl-shaped body formed in a single piece of graphite, fiberglass or impregnated fabric and having a waist separating a smaller upper bowl portion from a larger lower bowl portion. The lower bowl portion has a circular bout and is substantially deeper than the upper bowl portion. Preferably, the upper bowl portion also has a cutaway portion adjacent the fretboard, for fingering at the higher positions, and a more deeply curving waist portion on the same side to allow the guitar to be more easily held during playing.
Abstract: A funnel device for the transference of fluid from a spout-equipped container to a fluid receiving body, the device having a domed portion with an opening just sufficient to allow insertion of the spout of the spout-equipped container, and an eduction nose for conduiting the fluid into the receiving body. The device may include a swiveling clamp to detachably and flexibly hinge the spout of the spout-equipped container within the opening of the device, permitting ease in manipulation of the combined units.
Abstract: A metallic cartridge plug corresponding in dimensions to cartridges used in a firearm and having a screw disposed through an opening in its closed end is insertable within the firing chamber of the firearm and is free to rotate therein about its longitudinal axis. The threaded end of a telescoping rod is inserted through the barrel of the firearm and threaded into the screw disposed on the cartridge plug. A cap having a diameter substantially in excess of the bore diameter of the firearm is affixed to the outer end of the telescoping rod, such that the telescoping rod can be telescoped to bring the cap flush against the muzzle end of the barrel. The telescoping rod can not be unthreaded from the cartridge plug without simultaneously pulling and turning the cap affixed to the telescoping rod.
Abstract: A mains safety isolating device is provided for an audio device e.g. guitar and microphone for preventing fatal electrical shock upon grounding breakdown and in which a transformer has a primary winding grounded at a point and connected to an electro-acoustic transducer to receive electrical signals therefrom, a secondary winding of said transformer is connected to a primary winding of a second transformer by signal conductors, a secondary winding of said second transformer being connected to the amplifier circuit of a mains powered amplifying and loudspeaker apparatus, said secondary winding being grounded at a second point separate and isolated from the first-mentioned point.
