The steering circuitry steers feedback from output of the quantizer to inputs of the first and second feedback loops, the steering circuitry including a first output for providing the first feedback signal to the first feedback loop and a second output for providing a second feedback signal to the second feedback loop.
Abstract: The use of indolines of formula (I):
in which R1, R2, R3, R4 and R5 independently of one another represent hydrogen or C1-4 alkyl groups, or R4 and R5 together with the oxygen atoms to which they are attached may represent an alkylenedioxy group containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or their salts, as oxidation dye precursors gives natural brown hair colorings. The indolines of formula (I) are also suitable as couplers in oxidation hair dyes with a conventional primary intermediate, in which they result in a modification of the tints obtainable with the primary intermediate. They are used in conventional carriers, e.g., in gel or emulsion form, preferably mixed before use or on the hair with an oxidizing agent to develop the color.

Abstract: The invention relates to the use of linear and/or branched fatty alcohols containing at least 12 carbon atoms in the molecule and/or to the use of mixtures of such fatty alcohols with carboxylic acid esters as a lubricating additive in water-based drilling fluids for their use in geological exploration by drilling. The fatty-alcohol-based lubricants or lubricant systems are particularly suitable for use in water-based alkali metal silicate drilling muds which are known to be distinguished by comparatively high pH values. The additives according to the invention combine their lubricating effect with a foam-suppressing effect, i.e. prevent unwanted foaming.

Abstract: A process for the cutting or non-cutting forming of metals using two cooling lubricants, wherein an oil or a first emulsion having an oil content of at least 10 wt. % is applied to the workpiece, as a first cooling lubricant, at the tribo-zone and, at the same time, an oil-free cooling lubricant or a second emulsion that is an oil-in-water emulsion having an oil content of less than 10 wt. % is applied, as a second cooling lubricant, adjacent to the tribo-zone. Depending on the metal-working technique, a two-component nozzle is preferably used for supplying the first and second cooling lubricants, the jet of second cooling lubricant surrounding the jet of first cooling lubricant concentrically. Alternatively, it is possible to supply the first cooling lubricant directly to the tribo-zone through channels in the tool, while the second cooling lubricant is applied at the periphery.
Abstract: Agents for cleaning hard surfaces, such as crockery, containing a &bgr;-glucanase and compatible cleaning constituents, and having good cleaning effect on polysaccharide stains.
Abstract: A method of preparing a set of items for future business processes includes the step of grouping the items to be included in the set, each of the items associated with a unique identifier. The unique identifiers are then recorded en masse and communicated to a database. A set identifier is then generated from the recorded identifier and associated with the set of items.
Abstract: A method of cleaning hard surfaces by contact with an aqueous, liquid, multiphase, surfactant-containing cleaning composition having at least two continuous phases, one lower aqueous phase I and an upper aqueous phase II immiscible with the lower phase I, which can be temporarily converted into an emulsion by shaking and which cleaning composition contains no more than 50% by weight of nonionic surfactants, based on the total quantity of surfactants present.

Abstract: A light diffuser, consisting of a holding mechanism and, releasably connected thereto, an inflatable sack that is at least partially translucent. The holding mechanism comprises an adapter ring that at one end serves for attachment to a spotlight and at the other end as a receptable of the sack. The adapter ring is closed off at the attachment end so as to be translucent and pressure sealed. At the holding mechanism means are provided for supply of a gaseous filling medium. Arranged at the adapter ring are a compressed-gas connection and an electronically actuatable valve for the gas supply, such that a first pressure sensor determines the increasing of pressure within the sack fixed to the ring and sends a switch-off signal to the valve when a preset maximal pressure value has been reached, in order to terminate or interrupt filling automatically.
Abstract: A device for accomodating at least one, preferably electrical or electronic, component, comprising a housing forming an interior defined by an inner wall surface, in which interior the at least one component is arranged, the at least one component occupying less than all of the interior of the housing, the balance being filled with a casting material, wherein a projection from the inner wall surface encircles the interior and forms an undercut filled by the casting material to lock the casting material to the inner wall surface.

Abstract: An integrator stage for use in a delta sigma modulator includes an operational amplifier, an integration capacitor coupling an output of the operational amplifier and a summing node at an input of the operational amplifier, and a feedback path. The feedback path includes first and second capacitors having first plates coupled electrically in common at a common plate node and switching circuitry for sampling selected reference voltages onto second plates of the capacitors during a sampling phase. The integrator stage further includes a switch for selectively coupling the common plate node and the summing node during an integration phase.
Abstract: A data converter includes first and second input signal paths receiving an input signal having an input frequency, the first input signal path dividing the input frequency by a first divisor and the second input signal path dividing the input frequency by a second divisor, the second divisor being greater than the first divisor. A selector selects between an output of the first input signal path and an output from the second input signal path in response to a state of a control signal. Control circuitry monitors a selector output signal frequency and a current state of the control signal and selectively resets the state of the control signal to set the selector output frequency to a desired frequency.

Abstract: A method of controlling a power supply having an output activated in response to a first logic level of a control signal and deactivated in response to a second logic level of the control signal. A clock is generated on a second power source and used to time a time-out period of a selected number of clock periods. In response to the step of sensing, if the state of the output of the power supply is inactive through the timeout period, then the first logic level of the control signal is generated to activate the power supply for use in powering operations of an associated device. After completion of these operations, the second logic level of the control signal is generated to deactivate the power supply. If however, the state of the output of the power supply is active during the time-out period, then the first logic level of the control signal is maintained to power operations of the associated device.
