  • Patent number: 6887389
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for mixing sewage sludge with spent water-softener lime in a ratio of approximately 10:1 on a wet basis. The mixture is introduced to a rotary pre-dryer kiln and a rotary combuster kiln to kill pathogens. An ash by-product and gases are thereby produced. The ash by-product can be disposed of at much less cost or can be incorporated in a variety of applications such as an aggregate substitute.

  • Patent number: 6336875
Abstract: A simulated golf game whereby a scale course map, rules of play and a ball locator device for plotting the location of each shot are used by a player in conjunction with actual shots taken at a conventional golf driving range. For each driving range shot, the player estimates its distance, and then uses a ball locator device to measure the angle of deviation and to plot the position of the ball on the course map.

  • Patent number: 5836557
Abstract: The invention is a utility tray assembly that is capable of being mounted on a support member of a ladder, such as a shelf or a step. The assembly includes a tray having parallel side walls, parallel end walls disposed normal to the side walls, and a bottom defining a plane and disposed normal to the side walls and the end walls. The end walls have slots therein extending in a direction parallel to the plane of the bottom. The assembly further includes a strap having a body portion and opposing end portions. Each of the end portions includes a slot extending in a direction parallel with the longitudinal axis of the strap. A fastener is associated with each end wall and is insertable through the slots in the end wall and the strap for securing the end portions of the strap to the tray end walls in such a manner that the support member of the ladder is captured between the body portion of the strap and the undersurface of the tray bottom.

  • Patent number: 5494476
Abstract: A protective guard for use on a pneumatic tool known as a board file which includes a handle assembly and a board assembly that reciprocates back and forth relative to the handle assembly. The board assembly is held together by a nut and bolt located near each end thereof, and the handle assembly consists of a front handle and a rear handle mounted on a housing. A pinch point exists between a forward end of the housing and the forwardmost nut and bolt that holds the board assembly together. The protective guard is mounted on the handle assembly and prevents injury to an operator by preventing his fingers or the side of his hand from inadvertently slipping into this pinch point. A platform on the protective guard covers the forwardmost nut and bolt as the board assembly reciprocates relative to the handle assembly.

  • Patent number: 5368053
Abstract: A machine for cleaning parts includes a reservoir and two tanks. Wash solution is contained in one of the tanks while rinse solution is contained in the other tank. Pumps transfer the wash solution and the rinse solution from the tanks to the reservoir. A pair of pivotally mounted arms rotatably support a basket for holding parts. The basket is movable between a loading position, a cleaning position and a draining position. When the basket is in the cleaning position inside the reservoir, it is alternately rotated in opposite directions to improve the cleaning efficiency of the machine.

  • Patent number: 4758079
Abstract: An eye shield that effectively blocks ultraviolet rays is incorporated in a pair of ordinary eyeglasses. The eye shield comprises a combination of a coating or layer of light blocking material on the inner surfaces of the eyeglass lenses and a coating or layer of light reflecting material on the outer surfaces of the eyeglass lenses. This combination of light blocking material and light reflecting material results in zero light transmission through the eyeglass lenses.

  • Patent number: 4669725
Abstract: A directional device (10) to be used while playing golf includes a modified golf tee (12) and a standard golf tee (14) which are assembled together by removably inserting the pointed end (24) of the standard golf tee (14) into a hole (28) formed in the enlarged head (20) of the modified golf tee (12). The standard golf tee (14) is then aimed at a desired target such as a flagstick on a green when the pointed end (18) of the modified golf tee (12) is inserted into the ground and the enlarged head (20) of the modified golf tee (12) is positioned to support a golf ball.
