  • Patent number: 4656412
Abstract: A battery charger for incorporation into an electric-powered vehicle is disclosed. The charger includes a ferroresonant voltage-regulating circuit for providing an output voltage proportional to the frequency of an input AC voltage. A high frequency converter converts a DC voltage supplied, for example, from a rectifier connected to a standard AC outlet, to a controlled frequency AC voltage which is supplied to the input of the ferroresonant circuit. The ferroresonant circuit includes an output, a saturable core transformer connected across the output, and a first linear inductor and a capacitor connected in series across the saturable core transformer and tuned to resonate at the third harmonic of the AC voltage from the high frequency converter. The ferroresonant circuit further includes a second linear inductor connected between the input of the ferroresonant circuit and the saturable core transformer.

  • Patent number: 4645299
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a rotary indicating device preferably in use, for example, for wheel covers for motor vehicles. The device includes a base member having an indication region and adapted to be rotated about a rotary axis. The indication region indicates a desired image and comprises a plurality of reflection faces. The reflection faces are inclined in the same direction and also at the same angle with respect to a standard plane perpendicular to a rotary axis of the base member. Thus, when the base member rotates, the observer can visually recognize the image as a clear single image due to the after image phenomenon.

  • Patent number: 4629937
Abstract: Disclosed is a pulsed electron beam gun for generating a high current, short duration pulse which is received by a pulse detection circuit. The gun has a gated electron beam emitting area, a beam deflection and sweeping area and a beam pulse detector. Magnetic collimating means having lines of force along an axis in the direction of the electron beam surrounds the aforementioned structure. The magnetic collimating means intensifies the density and strength of the electron beam once it is emitted from its source of emission and is gated through the electron gate. A conventional pulse source delivers a low voltage pulse and a delayed pulse. The internal impedance of the pulse source is matched at the location of the electron gun where the pulses are applied to the electron gun components. The first pulse, at the beam gate, causes a short burst of electrons to be emitted.

  • Patent number: 4605926
Abstract: An illegal-sheet-material detecting apparatus, which is adapted to detect whether the property of each of the passing sheet materials is legal or not in a sheet manufacturing machine, provided with a comparison circuit for detecting the lag of the same detection value of the n th+ first sheet material with respect to the detection value showing the property such as thickness, size or the like of the optional portion of the n th sheet material memorized in the memory circuit as an electric signal. When the lag detected by the comparison circuit has exceeded a predetermined range, the counting operation of the sheet material is caused to stop thereby to use the detection value of the n th sheet material as a reference value for comparing it with the n th+ first sheet detection value.
