Abstract: An anatomical model for teaching, practicing and learning the repair of an episiotomy. The model comprises a fabric cover shaped as part of a female torso and limbs and stuffing material of cotton or the like, filling out the cover. There are provided a plurality of slit fabric layers of the vagina region of the model, as well as a slit in the cover to simulate the incisions of the vaginal mucosa, muscle, fascia and the subcuticular portion of the vagina.

Abstract: An apparatus for use in producing men's shirts or blouses provided with attached collars, which have a bottom fabric layer with a joining edge and a top fabric layer. The apparatus is provided with a marking device for indicating the collars at several points before sewing on the shirts or blouses and with a cutting device for trimming the joining edge of the bottom fabric layer of a collar after indicating. The marking device is provided with means for adjusting to variable collar sizes and changing over to different collar contours and the cutting device containing means for feeding the collars during trimming and for guiding the collars along the cutting means arranged side by side on a base plate. By this it is possible to perform two working operations by only one operator.

Abstract: A fume exhaust apparatus for laboratory staining dishes. The apparatus comprises a housing and an underliner for a staining dish. The underliner and the staining dish with slides therein are displaceable in the housing. An opening is provided in the housing top for extraction of slides. A lifter provided with hooks for removing the slides, one at a time extends through the opening into the staining dish. The lifter is operated by a rack and gear mechanism. A device for moving the underliner and the staining dish thereon, to align consecutive slides with the opening is also provided.

Abstract: An improved water gravity plant feeder for use with bottled water or hose connection to a water supply; the water gravity plant feeder comprises a housing, a water bottle mounted on the housing, and a device for supplying water from the bottle to plants arranged adjacent the housing. The watering device comprises an inner feed tray positioned under the water bottle for supplying a measured level of water at intervals to a water trough. When full, water is spilled from the trough into a sump in the housing, whence it flows into a water distributor for watering a plurality of plants. The plant feeder is also provided with mechanism for using water from a water tap.

Abstract: The opaque elements of a half-tone screen for gravure printing using a rotary printing machine are connected with each other by fine connections extending in the direction of cylinder movement.

Abstract: A photoelectrically controlled garment bagger. The bagger comprises a support frame for the bagger housing and for a roll of translucent sequentially detachable bags. The roll is provided with transverse perforations along which individual bags may be detached. Each bag is provided with an opaque spot located a predetermined distance from the perforations. The bags travel over a roller assembly.A photoelectric light responsive control unit employing a retroflector is mounted in the housing above the path of travel of the opaque spots on the bags. When an opaque spot on a bag interrupts the light beam of the control unit, a clamp bar in the housing is actuated to halt the movement of the roll of bags for a length of time sufficient to enable an operator to detach a bag and spread it on a garment, using a spreader device secured to the housing.

Abstract: The specification describes a baking appliance adapted to be placed in the baking oven of a cooker for receiving material to be baked. It comprises a bottom plate, a hood mounted on it with an open end and a lid closing the open end for baking rye flour bread and other forms of bread. The appliance consists of refractory stoneware for example fireclay. The bottom plate has a peripheral groove for having the hood fitted in it. In the top of the hood there is an air discharge opening and on the lid there is a closable opening for the supply of air and water.

Abstract: A cigarette lighter provided with a mechanism which may be preset to restrict the number of cigarettes to be lighted during a given period. The mechanism comprises a rod and cooperating lever and a ratchet gear operated by opening the cover of the lighter. Numbered graduations for showing the number of cigarettes allowed for a given period of time are marked on the ratchet gear.

Abstract: A hinge assembly for toilet bowl seat covers and other objects. The assembly comprises a pair of posts spacedly secured to a flange of the toilet bowl. The posts have upper smooth portions extending from the flange. A pair of bushings provided with hollow ears are pressed on the upper smooth portions of the posts. A hinge rod is passed through the hollow ears and through hinges secured to the toilet seat and cover.

Abstract: A brace for converting an extension ladder into a stepladder. The brace comprises a pair of spaced clamping members for securing two diverging extension ladder sections. The clamping members comprise a pair of rods having U-shaped clamps at each of their ends. The pairs of rods are secured by channel sections. An adjustable device for rigid bracing of the ladder sections is provided.

Abstract: A water gravity plant feeder comprising a housing, water bottle mounted on said housing, and a device for supplying water from the bottle to plants arranged adjacent the housing. The watering device comprises a feed tray positioned under the water bottle for supplying a measured volume of water at predetermined intervals to a water trough. When full, water is spilled from the trough into a sump in the housing, whence it flows into a water distributor for watering a plurality of plants.

Abstract: An oscillating spray head attachable to a source of fluid. The head comprises a housing having an inlet and outlet. A cover having apertures is secured to the outlet. An oscillating plate, provided with hollow posts extending therethrough and into the apertures in the cover, is positioned in the housing between the cover and the inlet. The plate oscillates on two bars formed on the inner face of the cover, and spaced from one another.

Abstract: A sewing device for sewing similar workpieces of alternate sizes, the device is provided with means for the positioning control and the insertion of the workpiece cuts to be sewn, into the workpiece clamping holders. To adapt the device for workpieces of other sizes, there are provided adjusting means for the simultaneous displacement of two-piece clamping holders, master cams and the stop dogs of an inserting device.

Abstract: A safety drug cabinet comprising a housing provided with a swingable door and combination lock means for locking said door. The lock means comprises a plurality of shafts extending through the door latches secured to one of the ends of said shafts and discs indicating an open and closed position of the latches. Pressure-sensitive adhesive disks marked to indicate open and closed positions of the combination lock are secured to the disks.

Abstract: A floatable fishing device comprising a float and fishing lamps to indicate catches of fish on hooks associated with the device. A pair of pendulum operated switches actuate two lamps, of different colors, depending on the direction of the swinging of the pendulum when the float is inclined by the pull of caught fish. The float is provided with a guide rod. A ring secured to the free end of a fishing line is slidable on the guide rod. A plurality of hooks are attached to the fishing line in spaced relationship. The device permits the fisherman to fish at a remote distance.

Abstract: An arm chair and folding table combination. The arm chair is provided with a back rest pivoted to the side walls of the chair. One of the side walls has an opening for receiving a folding table assembly. A U-shaped support is hinged to one end of the table top. The support has spaced legs into which the table top may be folded. A solid panel support is hinged to an opposite end of the table top. The entire table assembly is parallel with the plane of the side wall when folded.

Abstract: An automatic emergency bilge water pumpout system. The system comprises a through-hull water intake pipe for a boat engine's cooling water pump and a valve for closing the intake of water through the through-hull intake pipe. Another emergency pipe for aspirating water from the interior of a boat bilge communicates with a part in the valve. Float for automatically closing off the flow of water through the through-hull intake pipe and simultaneously opening the valve's part to the other emergency pipe, for pumping out the boat's bilge when water reaches a dangerous level are provided.

Abstract: A clamp for securing a cable connector on a battery post to prevent the loosening of the cable connector. The clamp comprises a base formed with a perforation adapted to slide over a battery post. A pair of arms extend spacedly of said base. Means are provided for tightening the arms against the cable connector to secure it on a battery post.
