  • Patent number: 6182260
Abstract: Generally, Reed-Solomon encoding process in the conventional communication system is executed by a Reed-Solomon encoder having different code rates for different data transmission rates. The present invention does not use a Reed-Solomon encoder having different coding rates, but instead uses a Reed-Solomon encoder having the same code rate regardless of data transmission rate. Accordingly, the present invention has the following effects. The present invention maintains same communication quality regarding data services having each different data transmission rate, and can use a single Reed-Solomon encoder.

  • Patent number: 6178634
Abstract: A miniature recycle-type heat exchanger to produce recycle-type heat exchangers from high extensibility, high plasticity aluminum or copper billets (ingots) utilizing a pressure forming press to extrude lightweight, thin, and small form factor recycle-type heat exchangers. The production method includes annealing copper and aluminum billet (ingot) material, conveying the material to a vibrator for placement in an ordered arrangement, and then conveying and fixing the material onto molds in a pressure forming press for the extrusion tasks required to fabricate the heat exchanger bodies. In the final stage after shaping and determination of the fluid input direction, the bodies are placed in a vacuum sputtering machine to undergo a rough textured heat conductive microparticulate deposition process to complete the production of miniature recycle-type heat exchangers that are of very compact dimensions and lightweight, but have a large heat exchange capacity and, furthermore, a high heat transfer rate.

  • Patent number: 6179236
Abstract: A device for driving a spinning reel is to rotate a rotor shaft and a spool shaft in the opposite direction to each other while reciprocating the spool shaft back and forth. A first spiral gear of a rotor shaft and a second spiral gear for rotating a spool shaft in the opposite direction of rotation of the rotor shaft are respectively engaged to a drive gear in the opposite direction to each other to thereby rotate the rotor shaft and the spool shaft in the opposite direction to each other. The spool shaft has a cross-shaped spiral groove thereon and a guide pin for reciprocating the spool shaft back and forth is engaged with the spiral groove. Therefore when the drive gear is rotated, a rotor and a spool is rotated in the opposite direction to each other, and at the same time, the spool fixed to the spool shaft is reciprocated back and forth.

  • Patent number: 6174618
Abstract: The invention provides a battery holder consisting of one plate-like support member and another support member. A plurality of battery holes of a predetermined depth into which sealed portions of a positive or negative side of sealed-type batteries that are clamped at one side by the support member are to be respectively fitted are formed in one face of the support member, so that one row of the battery holes is a row for positive terminals and another row of the battery holes is a row for negative terminals. A terminal hole is formed in a bottom face of each of the battery holes. A groove is formed between adjacent paired positive-terminal and negative-terminal holes among the terminal holes disposed in the bottom faces of the battery holes of the rows. The paired positive-terminal and negative-terminal holes are communicated with each other through the groove. Vent holes are opened at appropriate places among the battery holes.

  • Patent number: 6173670
Abstract: A performance vee hull that can be made with conventional aluminum manufacturing techniques on a relatively economical basis. The hull uses the lift of a concave bow, the off-setting “hold down” of strakes without lift characteristics, the tracking and drag of a keel and an integrally formed off-set motor mount with a full transom to produce a “severe vee” hull configuration (10-15 degrees inclination per side, 20-30 degrees total vee shape). The hull has a curved, reverse or concave flared bow. A bottom surface of the hull terminates at a rear edge. Behind the rear edge is a set-back section. A transom extends across the rear of the boat, and is relatively flat all the way across. The set-back section extends rearwardly 4-8 inches from the transom and has a bottom surface that is above the bottom edge of the transom, about 3-6 inches.

  • Patent number: 6175818
Abstract: A signal processing arrangement for a band-limited input signal, comprising a plurality N of signal comparators. Each signal comparator is adapted to compare the input signal with a plurality of different exemplar signals and to generate an output indicative of which of the exemplar signals corresponds most closely to the input signal. Each of the exemplar signals is arbitrarily derived independent of any expected input signal. The arrangement provides an N-part output signal which is indicative of the input signal, such that each part of the N-part output signal is derived from the output signal of a respective one of said N signal comparators.
