  • Patent number: 4004732
Abstract: The invention is an improved snow-making machine and method of making snow by effecting crystallization of a water spray in a moving, high volume, unidirectional mechanical movement of air wherein the discharge end of the snow-making apparatus is regularly redirected during operation such that the area of snow particle deposition obtained by the moving discharge end is at least three times greater than the actual area covered by the snow pattern formed by the particles issuing from the discharge end and the movement of the discharge end is at a rate and defines a pattern such that the resultant snow particles are directed to a different portion of the atmosphere and subsequently deposited at a different location than the immediately previously generated particles.
