  • Patent number: 6536674
Abstract: The present invention relates to a contactless smart card manufacturing process and more specifically to a manufacturing process for a contactless smart card for which the antenna is on a fibrous material such as paper. This process includes a manufacturing step to screen print the antenna onto the support, a step to bond the contacts of the chip onto the antenna support using conductive glue, and a step designed to laminate the card body onto the antenna support by hot press molding. Cutouts made in the corners of the antenna support prior to the lamination step enable the card bodies to be bonded together. The card thus obtained allows a posteriori viewing of any mechanical misuse to which it may have been subjected (extreme bending).

  • Patent number: 6462150
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for the isolation of olefins from a gas mixture comprising one or more olefins, inert gas and catalyst poison, where the gas mixture is fed to a separation unit (18) and separated into olefin and inert gas. The method according to the invention has the special feature that an apparatus (17) is installed upstream or downstream of the separation unit (18) and that i) in the case of an upstream apparatus (17), the catalyst poison is at least partially removed from the gas mixture, and ii) in the case of a downstream apparatus (17), the catalyst poison is at least partially removed from the separated-off olefin. The olefins here are preferably isolated from a gas mixture formed as offgas in catalytic gas-phase polymerization for the preparation of polyolefins. The recovery of the olefins from the offgas is of economic importance.

  • Patent number: 6394017
Abstract: A craft transportable by road by being hitched at the rear of a vehicle, including two wheels capable of being extended from their housing into running position through an opening in the housing, each wheel being coupled by a shaft to one first end of a lever arm, the assembly being articulated on a shaft integral with the hull, and the second end of the lever arm being coupled by a shaft to a shock absorber fixed to a first support for maintaining the wheels in extended position. When the wheels are retracted IN the housing, a trap door integral with the lever arm is urged to come to a stop on a boss to close the housing opening after the shock absorber has been released and fixed upon a second support integral with the lever arm and after the lever arm has been fixed to a third support integral with the hull, so as to close the opening completely, thereby preventing water from penetrating into the housing where the wheel is located.

  • Patent number: 6390375
Abstract: The invention relates to a contactless or hybrid contact-contactless smart card, including an antenna on a support, this antenna being formed by at least one turn of electrically conductive ink which is screen printed on the support, two card bodies 24 on each side of the support, each of the card bodies consisting of at least one layer of plastic material, and a chip or module 26 connected to the antenna. The support is made of paper and features cutouts 22 in each corner at which the two card bodies are welded together, thus giving its capacity to delaminate, when the card is bent, at the location where the forces were generated, which highlights any act of deliberate damage a posteriori as the card retains the traces of the bending, and represents a countermeasure against fraud.

  • Patent number: 6361956
Abstract: A method for measuring the end point and for monitoring the real time kinetics of a bioaffinity reaction in biological fluids and suspensions, employing microparticles as bioaffinity binding solid phase, biospecific reagent labelled with a fluorescent label and a fluorescence detection system which is based on two-photon fluorescence excitation, contacting the analyte, the labelled reagent and the solid phase simultaneously, focusing a two-photon exciting laser beam into the reaction suspension and measuring the fluorescence signal emitted by the microparticles from one particle at a time when they randomly float through the focal volume of the laser beam. In this method the signal is monitored kinetically to obtain information about the analyte concentration before the reaction approaches the highest point of the response. Since the growth rate of the signal intensity is directly proportional to the analyte concentration, the analyte concentration can be predicted in the initial phase of the reaction.
