    Abstract: An apparatus includes a housing into which a hazardous gas is introduced. A sleeve in the housing includes a perforate segment into which the gas is discharged along with flows of oxygen delivered from sleeve mounted nozzles. Particles forming in a sleeve defined mixing zone gravitate toward a first collection site within the housing. Within the housing are radially spaced tubular members through which the gas and oxygen mixture flows in a serpentine path with provision for the collection of particles precipitating from the flow adjacent one end of the housing. Metallic fibers render any gas collection in the housing inert. Provision is made for delivering, in the alternative, a pressurized air flow to the sleeve for oxidizing the hazardous gas flow utilizing ambient air. A diffuser plate imparts current to the ambient air discharged into the sleeve.

    Abstract: A yoke type engine wherein the orbital path of the slider is alterable to effect piston stroke and compression ratio changes. A crank component has a crankpin which carries and positions the slider. A boss of the crank component is carried by a control shaft in an offset manner. Timing gears normally drive the control shaft in synchronization with the crankshaft to maintain a constant stroke and compression ratio. Relocation of certain timing gears by an actuator causes the control shaft to rotationally advance or retard to reposition the crank component carried thereby to in turn alter the orbital path of the coaxial crankpin and slider relative to a crankshaft axis. Accordingly, high and low compression orbits for the slider may be effected to best suit engine loads. A variable length throw couples the slider to the crankshaft. The orbital path of the slider provides increased crankshaft leverage over conventional engine arrangements.

Formed integrally with one of the end walls is a perch projecting outwardly from the end wall along a fold line. A perch support member is in abutting contact with the end wall and the perch. A retainer strip is struck from the end wall and the perch to confine the support member against dislodgment. A support strap for the birdhouse is provided with enlarged ends for inserted locking engagement with openings in each end wall.
