  • Patent number: 5113350
Abstract: A material handling system (10) for storage, recording and display of information required to aid in the filling, mixing, loading, and recording of complex mixtures of materials such as fertilizer; wherein a computer (12), a key board (20), and a load cell (28) provide input to a central unit (16) which processes the inputs and activates a board (18) which displays information required to sequentially load several ingredients into a hopper (24) to form mixture batches which are sequentially transported by a conveyor (30) to a mixer (32) and then by a loading tube (34) to a hauling vehicle (36).

  • Patent number: 5111126
Abstract: A device for the generation of basic electrical signals which are supplied to a computerized processing complex for the operation of industrial robots. The system includes a stereo mirror arrangement for the projection of views from opposite sides of a visible indicia formed on a workpiece. The views are projected onto independent halves of the retina of a single camera. The camera retina is of the CCD (charge-coupled-device) type and is therefore capable of providing signals in response to the image projected thereupon. These signals are then processed for control of industrial robots or similar devices.

  • Patent number: 5090760
Abstract: An assembly for flexibly securing the fuel filler pipe of a vehicle to the body of the vehicle. The assembly includes a flexible support member which is designed to provide a "break-away" connection to a housing which is attached rigidly to the body of the vehicle. Thus, in the event that the vehicle is involved in an accident, the filler pipe connector is permitted to move relative to the body thereby reducing the chance of breakage between the fuel filler pipe and the fuel tank of the vehicle. In addition a rigid connector plate is rigidly attached to the fuel filler pipe. This connector plate serves to connect the filler pipe to the flexible support member and in the event of an accident, it serves to protect the open end area of the filler pipe so as to reduce the chance of damage thereto, and also serves to lessen the change of damage or disengagement of a fuel cap attached to the filler pipe.

  • Patent number: 5003844
Abstract: Disclosed is a portable opener for removal of covers which are threadedly attached to containers, such as jars of the type commonly found in households. The opener includes a unitary housing, shaped generally as an inverted L. The vertical portion of the housing contains a motor, and a power supply, while the upper, horizontal portion of the housing contains a drive mechanism which is driveably attached to the motor and to a vertically adjustable and removable first gripping means, which is adapted to grip the cover of a container. This first gripping means includes a resilient body which is adapted to be compressed around the container cover by an over center clamping mechanism. A second gripping means is provided to retain the container. The second gripping means surrounds the container and also utilizes an over center clamping mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4971211
Abstract: A dual chambered baby bottle designed and constructed to selectively dispense a liquid to an infant from open end portions located at the upper end of each chamber. The chambers dispense the liquids through nipples attached to open ends of the chambers. The open ends of the chambers diverge from one another angularly and are space apart from one another so as to provide ample room for an infant to feed from one nipple without interference from the other. The nipples are provided with covers which are shaped as heads of animals for amusement of the infant and to facilitate removal thereof. The bottle is shaped to provide generally centered small diameter handles to facilitate controlled handling of the bottle by an infant. In addition to the toy-like nipple covers several figures which are attractive to infants are imprinted upon the outer surface of the bottle to make it attractive and amusing to an infant.

  • Patent number: 4865544
Abstract: An articulator for the accurate but resilient positioning of a pair of dental model casts, to provide convenient assess for a technician working on the casts. The articulator (10) comprises a resilient frame (20) having hinged intermediate portions (28), (30) which are attached to mating end portions (22), (24). The frame (20) is attached to a pair of mounting elements (50), (52) by means of connecting rods (64), (66) the balls (68), (70), (72), (74) of which are received in sockets (54), (56), of the mounting elements and sockets (60), (62) of the intermediate portions (28), (30) of the frame (20). The mounting elements are cast into dental model casts (12) and (14). When appropriate positioning of the elements is achieved, an adhesive is applied between the sockets and the balls of the connecting rods so as to maintain the desired position of the casts and articulator relative to each other.

  • Patent number: 4694507
Abstract: A mechanism for opening and closing a window closure member (12) in a welder's helmut (10) by movement of the welder's chin. The helmet is provided with a chin engaging member (18), (20) which is attached to one end of an arm (24) by a rod (26). The arm (24) is pivotally connected to the helmut. As the welder lowers his chin against the chin engaging member, a roller (30) attached to the other end of pivoting arm (24) applies an opening force via rod (26) to the lower inner face of the window closure member (12) thus forcing the closure member to swing open about hinges (14). The chin engaging member is biased against the welder's chin by a spring (40). Thus an upward movement of the welder's chin will allow the window closure member (12) to return to a closed position.
