  • Patent number: 6422465
Abstract: A process and apparatus for preparation of custom blended fuels is disclosed. A bar code on a fuel tank or vehicle, such as an automobile, is scanned by a bar code reader operatively associated with a fuel dispensing means to convey information about a fuel required or desired to a computer controlled customized blender associated with the fuel dispensing means. Multiple fuel components, such as gasoline and replenishable fuel components such as methanol and ethanol may be custom mixed at the point of purchase. Preferably an octane analyzer and other fuel property analyzers, such as RVP analyzers, are associated with individual component or blended gasoline streams.

  • Patent number: 5016973
Abstract: The invention provides for a dielectric optical fiber cable reinforced by a yarn made by spinning synthetic staple fibers around a glass core. The optical fibers are sheathed by the yarn reinforced glass core and then enclosed in a polyethylene jacket. When heated, the yarn fuses with the polyethylene jacket forming a rigid cable member.

  • Patent number: 4909817
Abstract: The present invention provides a multi-purpose collection system for use in the simultaneous manufacture of loose fibrous mineral material and insulation blankets or mats from the forming machine. The loose fibrous mineral material is directly intercepted from the fiberizer units of the forming machine and requires no post-processing steps other than separation and packaging.

  • Patent number: 4896476
Abstract: The invention is an improved compression member for use in the packaging of insulation material. The compression member includes a plurality of curvilinear finger members defining a plurality of voids extending in the machine direction of the insulation material. The finger members and defined voids enhance the compression operation by encouraging an even release of compressed air across the width of the insulation pack and by guiding the insulation material into the packaging apparatus in a desired orientation.

  • Patent number: 4371318
Abstract: A hydraulic fluid power system incorporating a supplemental pressurization system at the intake side of a hydraulic pump. The supplemental pressurization system includes a supplementary reservoir in communication with a primary fluid accumulator and an intake conduit of the hydraulic pump. The reservoir supplements hydraulic fluid flow to the intake side of the pump whenever intake line pressure drops below one atmosphere. Should the combined hydraulic fluid flow from the accumulator and the reservoir be insufficient to raise the intake pressure to prevent cavitation of the pump, an air ingestion valve opens to supply air to the intake side of the pump until proper pressurization is achieved, whereby the supplemental pressurization system closes off.
