Abstract: This invention relates to stands for cut trees, such as Christmas trees, and more particularly, it relates to a tree stand which permits the tree to be mounted vertically even when the tree trunk is bent.
Abstract: A truck bed insert having a powered unloading blade, the insert adapted to be carried on a truck bed, the insert comprising a floor, a tunnel member, upwardly extending sides joined to said floor sides, the front end comprising a blade upwardly extending from said floor and disposed between said upwardly extending sides. A worm screw drive shaft is mounted in said tunnel member. Power is provided for turning said worm drive.
Abstract: A guide to aid in attaching a vehicle to a trailer. A hitch guide is comprised of a cross member 20, a forward member 30 adjustably attached to cross member 20 mounted substantially perpendicular to cross member 20. Forward member 30 has a second cross member 40 adjustably attached thereto. Second cross member 40 is mounted perpendicular to forward member 30 and thus substantially parallel to cross member 20. A wire 22 can be provided on cross member 20 to be located directly underneath the ball of the hitch. Forward member 30 is then adjusted to touch the oustide of wheel 62 and the towing vehicle is moved backwardly until wheel 62 just touches the second cross member 40.
Abstract: There is disclosed a protective coating composition suitable for application to surfaces of concrete, wood or metal to provide each surface with increased skid and chemical resistance. The composition comprises a blend of hydraulic cement in the range of 5 to 18 wt., 0.5 to 6.0 wt. % polyvinyl acetate, the balance silica sand, the blend having admixed therewith a solution comprised 10 to 70 wt. % of a vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer, the remainder water.
Abstract: There is disclosed a protective, waterproof coating composition suitable for application to surfaces of concrete, wood or metal to provide each surface with increased abrasion and chemical resistance. The composition comprises a blend of hydraulic cement in the range of 5 to 18 wt. %, 200 mesh limestone in the range of 20 to 50 wt. %, 0.5 to 6.0 wt. % polyvinyl acetate, the balance of the blend 50 mesh limestone, the blend having admixed therewith a solution comprised to 30 to 60 wt. % of a vinyl acetate-ethyl copolymer emulsion, the remainder water.
Abstract: A self-opening lens protective device for protecting the lens of a scope mounted on a gun is disclosed. The lens protective device is comprised of a tubular sleeve member having a first end thereof adapted for mounting on an end of a scope and having a second end for mounting a cover member thereto. Relative to the barrel of the gun when the protective device is placed on a scope attached to a gun, the tubular member has a top portion furtherest away from the gun barrel and a bottom portion closest to the gun barrel. A cover member is pivotally connected to the second end at the bottom portion of the tubular member and is adapted to open by gravity when the gun is brought to the firing position.
Abstract: Air-containing microcapsular opacifiers, optionally containing pigment particles incorporated in the microcapsular structure, have substantially continuous, organic polymeric solid walls and a particle diameter of about 0.5 micron to about 10 microns, e.g., less than 1 or 2 microns. The opacifiers are produced by heating precursor microcapsules containing a liquid core material to a temperature sufficient to substantially drive off the core material from the precursor microcapsules and replace it with air.
Abstract: A projectile lubricating and muzzle loading device for muzzle loading guns is disclosed. The device comprises a body structure having a top surface and a bottom surface for placing on the muzzle of the gun when inserting a projectile thereinto. In addition, the body structure of the device includes an aperture adapted to receive and hold the projectile during lubrication and to align the projectile with the muzzle of the gun for loading purposes, the aperture defined by a side wall structure extending from and connecting the top surface to the bottom surface and having the axis thereof aligned substantially at right angles with the bottom side. The device includes means for introducing lubrication to the aperture when the projectile is held therein.
Abstract: An archer's hand plate adapted to be worn on an archer's hand when drawing and releasing a bow string and arrow is disclosed. The device is designed to increase accuracy and reproducibility in shooting arrows. The device comprises a base plate designed to fit in the palm of the archer's hand and to keep the back of the hand substantially flat and in line with fingers of the hand up to the first joint thereof, thereby maintaining knuckles of the fingers in line, the base plate having a leading edge, a rear portion and a top portion connecting the leading edge and rear portion, the leading edge shaped to coincide with at least the index finger and middle finger of the hand and to require said fingers to bend at the first joint thereof when the hand is closed about the base plate.
Abstract: A protective coating composition suitable for refractory brick or refractory linings and materials exposed or subjected to high temperatures is provided. The composition comprises about 40 to 95 wt. % zirconium silicate, up to 30 wt. % sodium silicate, 1 to 10 wt. % mullite, up to about 5 wt. % magnesium silicate, 1 to 10 wt. % aluminum hydrate, the remainder water, the composition capable of withstanding temperatures up to 4,000.degree. F.
Abstract: A protective device is provided for a coupler of the type such as used on railroad cars, the coupler having two members the ends of which have a generally C-shaped configuration and which engage each other for purposes of hitching or towing cars, the protective device comprising a cover member designed to be placed over the coupler and adapted to prevent foreign materials from engaging the members of the coupler and impeding operation thereof, and a clamping device attached to the cover, the clamping device designed to fixedly engage at least one of the members of the coupler for purposes of maintaining the cover member on the coupler.
