  • Patent number: 5667138
Abstract: According to the invention, a hand held sprayer is provided. Fluid flows from a reservoir to a delivery passageway upon pulling or pressing an actuator such as an aerosol actuator or button, a trigger or finger pump button. A nozzle having an inlet and an outlet is rotatably mounted to the outlet of the delivery passageway. The nozzle rotates about a rotation axis through the center of the discharge end of the nozzle. The actuator of the hand held sprayer is interconnected to the rotatably mounted nozzle to provide rotation of the nozzle simultaneously with the dispensing of the liquid from the reservoir to the atmosphere. The nozzle rotates from about 90.degree. to 360.degree. about the axis of rotation. The resulting hand held sprayer is capable of dispensing viscous liquids having a viscosity of over 60 cps and delivering a desirable round spray pattern.

  • Patent number: 5617947
Abstract: According to the invention, a crimp and crease resistant metal chain necklace and a container therefor are provided. The necklace is composed of adjoining rigid metal chain segments preferably a flat stiff metal chain such as herringbone, serpentine or cobra chain made from a precious metal, preferably gold or silver. The ridged metal chain segments are of the type which are susceptible to crimping and creasing in ordinary usage and which cannot be folded without damaging the chain. The metal chain segments are interconnected by hinged connectors which are preferably integrally attached to such metal chain segments to provide a crimp and crease resistant chain which can be folded to a small size and preferably to about the length of the longest rigid metal chain segment. Preferably the hinged connector includes at least one rod about which the chain segments can pivot. Preferably the rod is concealed within the necklace to give a smooth, flat appearance.

  • Patent number: 5509589
Abstract: A backpack for carrying bulky, heavy footwear such as inline skates, conventional roller skates, ice skates or ski boots is provided. Preferably a backpack for carrying inline skates is provided.According to the invention, the backpack includes left and right opposed trapezoidal compartments. These compartments have a generally trapezoidal side face, a generally rectangular back face and a narrow width. The left and right trapezoidal compartments are angularly joined together at the front base portion of the compartments to form an isosceles triangle therebetween. The joined right and left trapezoidal compartments define a portion of the front face of the backpack. A piece of luggage material such as tight weave nylon is used to complete the front of the backpack by closing off the top of the area between the left and right trapezoidal compartments. The left and right trapezoidal compartments are rather narrow and in fact are only wide enough to receive the narrow part of a boot or skate.

  • Patent number: 5492275
Abstract: The hand pump sprayer and system for dispensing viscous liquids are provided. A nozzle is rotatably mounted around the delivery passageway of a hand pump sprayer. The nozzle is interconnected to the trigger of the hand pump sprayer so that the nozzle rotates, upon pulling of the trigger, simultaneously with the discharge of the liquid to the atmosphere. The nozzle rotates about an axis of rotation through the center of the discharge end of the nozzle through an angle of rotation from about 90.degree. to about 360.degree., desirably from 180.degree. to 360.degree. and preferably 270.degree. or more. Desirably the nozzle has two discharge outlets which direct fluid expelled from the hand pump sprayer along intersecting discharge axes. Simultaneously as the fluid is discharged along the intersecting axes, the nozzle is rotated about the axis of rotation. The resulting dispensed liquid has a high degree of atomization and a desirable round spray pattern.

  • Patent number: 5431317
Abstract: According to the invention a multimode traveling bag is provided which can be carried as a hand carrying bag, a back pack, shoulder bag or over the head bag. The invention provides these multimode operations while limiting the number of handles and straps. Preferably a handle and strap are provided which are neatly positioned along the body of the bag when not in use. The traveling bag desirably has a single strap affixed at each end of the strap to the left and right side of the traveling bag. The strap should be of sufficient length so that the attached strap can be placed over the head of the user when the user desires to carry the bag over his head and support the bag by the opposite shoulder.

  • Patent number: 5283999
Abstract: A concrete panel is provided having a threaded cylindrical concrete insert imbedded therein for receipt of a bolt. Preferably, the concrete inserts are imbedded in each corner of the panel. The inserts have an opening on at least one end thereof for receipt of a securing bolt after they have been imbedded in the concrete panel. Each insert has a passageway which allows a reinforcing bar to pass through the cylindrical insert. The concrete inserts can extend the entire thickness of the panel and the cylindrical bore opens on both sides of the panel. As a result the panel can be secured from either side during construction of a building. The panel can then be made with one style or configuration on one side and a different style on the other side. Thus, two different style buildings can be constructed from the panels.

  • Patent number: 5249747
Abstract: A closed pressurized spray container is provided. The container includes a nozzle assembly interconnected with the delivery passageway or conduit from the self contained closed pressurized container. The nozzle assembly has a first and second passageway, preferably conduits which are connected to a mechanical break up chamber which is connected to the delivery passageway or conduit of the pressurized container. The first and second passageways split and splits the fluid preferably a pan coating exiting from the mechanical break up chamber into two streams. Each conduit has a fluid outlet to the atmosphere. The first and second conduits in combination with said fluid outlets define a discharge axis. The first fluid conduit discharge axis intersects the second fluid discharge axis at an impingement angle .beta. of from 10.degree. to 170.degree. so that the pan coating exiting each outlet intersects at a point exterior to the nozzle.
