Abstract: An air spring actuated brake assembly for a railway vehicle braking system is provided which comprises an air spring disposed between a mounting member for attachment to the rigid structure of the braking system and a push rod attached thereto for longitudinal movement in an outward direction upon actuation thereof to initiate a braking sequence of the railway vehicle braking system. The air spring actuated brake assembly of the present invention allows for improved control of the brake shoe forces including visual travel measurement indication which is especially desirable during light load conditions. Additionally the air spring actuated brake assembly of the invention allows for the visual inspection and simple replacement of an inflatable spring should an air leak in the actuator occur. Currently used brake assemblies employing cylinder type actuators may be retrofitted with the air spring actuator of the invention.

Abstract: A portable apparatus for cleaning an elongated air filter includes housing, a generally closed chamber which is formed within the housing and which has an irregular inner wall surface capable of providing resistance to a fluid flow discharged into the chamber and a hollow shaft mounted for rotation within the housing and extending through the chamber. One end of the shaft is connected to a source of fluid under pressure. A plurality of nozzles are secured to the elongated shaft and positioned within the chamber and a plurality of orifices are radially formed through a wall of the hollow shaft. Fluid which is supplied under pressure to the shaft exits through the plurality of jets forming the fluid flow that causes rotation of the shaft and exits the plurality of orifices toward an inner surface of a filtering medium of such air filter causing contaminants to exit such air filtering medium.
Abstract: A combination expandable outlet and surge protector apparatus includes a plurality of outlet plugs which are separately moveable and are protected by a water impervious sheathing attached to each plug and at least one surge protector circuit. The apparatus can either be engaged with the wall outlet or as a extension type outlet. The preferred embodiment includes an on/off switch and an indicator lamp that is illuminated when the plurality of outlets are energized.
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring at least one of unintentional and intentional electromagnetic emissions for at least one of enabling electromagnetic location of predetermined electronic equipment giving off such at least one of such unintentional and intentional electromagnetic emissions, tagging such predetermined electronic equipment and tracking such predetermined electronic equipment and various combination thereof. The apparatus comprises an emitter mechanism for providing an amplified electromagnetic energy which at least one of amplifies and changes a frequency content of the at least one of such unintentional and intentional electromagnetic emissions signature of a targeted electronic device by using an applied electromagnetic field generated by the emitter mechanism. There is a receiver for receiving the at least one of such unintentional and intentional electromagnetic emissions signature of such targeted electronic device.
Abstract: A device for measuring and annunciating weight of a luggage article having a carrying member includes a handle and a load measuring member which is operatively secured to the handle for generating an output signal. A hook shaped member is mounted for a vertical movement within the handle and applies force to the load measuring member when the luggage article is lifted, whereby the load measuring member is responsive to the applied load to generate the output signal which is indicative of the weight of such luggage article. A controller is mounted within the handle and has a processing member which is connected to a source of electrical power supply and which is responsive to receipt of the generated output signal to determine weight of the luggage article which is then displayed on a display which is operably connected to the processing member.
Abstract: A pull down light fixture having a cover connected to a bottom portion of the light fixture. A power source is connected to the light fixture via a power cord. A power cord base engages a ceiling for housing the power cord. A predetermined plurality of retraction cords are connected to the cover for at least one of raising and lowering the cover. A retraction cord mechanism is connected to each retraction cord for enabling such retraction cords to at least one of extend and retract. A predetermined plurality of retraction cord bases engage the ceiling for housing each retraction cord and retraction cord mechanism. A pull down attachment is connected to the light fixture for enabling the light fixture to be pulled down.
