  • Patent number: 3985920
Abstract: The adhesive properties of vinyl resins are substantially improved by adding thereto or mixing therewith polyfunctional carboxylic aziridinyl esters, either in the pure form or dissolved in inert organic liquid media. The aziridinyl ester may be added to vinyl resin which are in solution, to vinyl resins which are in the form of organosols or plastisols, or to vinyl resins which are in the form of solids (powders). The process of this invention has found particular utility in the coating of vinyl resin upon non-porous surfaces.

  • Patent number: 3980281
Abstract: Cantilevered accessories for vessels in which a liquid is agitated by a centrally located rotary agitator are provided with vibration suppressing stabilizer plates. The plates are mounted near the free end of the accessories, within the liquid in the vessel, and extend generally parallel to the direction of circulation of the liquid in the vessel.

  • Patent number: 3977655
Abstract: A liquid agitator having agitator blades attached to a rotary shaft centrally located within a liquid containing vessel is provided with a vibration suppressing stabilizer, consisting of one or more plates attached to the agitator shaft. The span of the stabilizer is somewhat less than the diameter of the agitator blades, but equal to at least about 20% of the blade diameter. The height of the stabilizer is also equal to at least about 20% of the blade diameter. The stabilizer is located in a portion of the liquid within the vessel which rotates about the agitator shaft with a tangential velocity proportional to the distance from the shaft. Interaction between this liquid and the stabilizer suppresses agitator vibrations.

  • Patent number: 3965361
Abstract: An automatic x-ray film loader is provided with film transports for moving the film to or from an exposure station that automatically correct improperly aligned sheets of film. The speed of at least one of the transports is automatically adjusted so that sheets are transferred from one transport to another smoothly and evenly. A simplified system for clamping the sheets of film between two intensifier plates and for moving one of these plates so that sheets of film can be fed to or moved away from the plates is also provided.

  • Patent number: 3933631
Abstract: An ion exchange system having a number of vessels containing beds of ion exchange material that remain in the same vessel during exhaustion and regeneration is operated so that the efficiency of exhaustion and regeneration is increased and the amount of time the vessels and ion exchange material stand idle is reduced. A number of vessels are connected in parallel in service while other vessels are connected in series for regeneration. Vessels with freshly regenerated ion exchange material are connected in series with the service vessel containing the most nearly exhausted bed of ion exchange material while that bed is being substantially completely exhausted.
