  • Patent number: 6658990
Abstract: A multiple-use injection machine of the type used in food processing, is especially suited for selectively injecting treatment media into meat products including, inter alia, beef, pork, whole chickens and chicken parts. The treatment media is chose from a group including both liquid aqueous solutions utilized at normal ambient temperatures and normal operating pressures and a thermal treatment medium such as live steam at elevated temperatures and pressures.

  • Patent number: 6612825
Abstract: The pillow cutter of a food product extrusion system is provided with motor driven roller means designed to pull filled, or unfilled, extrusions, including hollow tubes, or ropes, of extruded food material from the extrusion die head. The ropes are then cut in various shapes such as square, diamond or triangle pillows, sticks or bars. The roller means constitute rotatable base rollers sized to effect telescopic assembly with removable, interchangeable, tubular, cylindrical cutter sleeves engraved on the outer peripheral surface of the sleeves with variable cutting patterns so the user of the system can optionally change the cutting patterns by selective choice of cutter sleeves.

  • Patent number: 6475397
Abstract: A back-flushing method is practiced with a back-flushing filter construction wherein a perforate filter screen providing filter openings also forms an internal chamber for receiving the effluent from a liquid stream. A filter piston is disposed in the internal chamber and operates to divide the chamber into first and second zones on opposite sides of the piston. By selectively reciprocating the piston, the effluent in the chamber is compressed and moved on both sides of the piston. Thus, the effluent back-flushes the filter openings and creates a rolling action in the liquid surrounding the filter screen on the upstream side to dislodge particulate debris accumulated on the filter screen.

  • Patent number: 6470536
Abstract: The clamping clip construction of a clip board is improved by changing the clamping member to provide an offset flange formed with a shelf-like tray at the end, thereby to shorten the clip and enlarging the available space on the board, and shortening the distance to the pivot axis to increase the clamping force, and to provide an enlarged paper engaging surface to safeguard the papers on the board. Retention means are also provided which, together with the tray, form a snap-in detent so that elongated objects such as pens and pencils may be stored and retrieved directly on the clip construction of the clip board.

  • Patent number: 6375141
Abstract: A specially formed hanger formed as a unitary bar, or rod, is formed and shaped to provide three point contact on two opposing side surfaces of a stud by means of torsion generated forces to resist downwardly and outwardly vectored gravitational loading forces resulting from supporting and/or suspending utilitarian loads on the hanger.

  • Patent number: 6210727
Abstract: A bulk density sampling method and device whereby formed product is flowed through a vertically disposed passage of pre-determined size. The passage is temporarily obstructed to collect and weigh a known volume of product upon which to base a calculation of bulk density and the generation of a control signal for regulating a multi-tasking processor to constantly monitor, control, and display speed, head gap position, temperature, feed rate and target moisture.
