Abstract: A skin wash composition intended for topical application to water-wetted skin comprising an .alpha.-hydroxy acid active ingredient formulated in a mild and non-irritant detergent base consisting of a mixture of a non-ionic alkylpolyglucoside surfactant and an amphoteric surfactant.
Abstract: A pharmaceutical tablet, with a break line aligned along a long dimension of the tablet, such that a twisting action, in which parts of the tablets on opposite sides if the break line are subjected to a rotational twisting force in respectively opposite senses, causes the tablet to break into two or more parts. The tablet is of the type which may be broken into two or more parts in order to ease swallowing or to allow administration of a partial dose.
Abstract: The problem of formulating a dentifrice which is compatible with a bis-biguanide anti-bacterial agent, for instance chlorhexidine or alexidine, is solved by using a nonionic thickening agent; a nonionic surfactant; and an abrasive which is either a sparingly soluble salt, for instance calcium carbonate, (used in combination with an agent to suppress anion formation), or an essentially insoluble compound, for instance, a silica of low anion content, or a mixture thereof. Preferably, the composition has a flavor which is mainly aniseed, balanced by mints. Preferably during the preparation of a silica containing dentifrice, chlorhexidine and saccharin are added together at an early stage, prior to the addition of silica, to avoid the formation of lumps. Such dentifrices are useful in the prophylaxis and/or treatment of periodontal disease and caries.

Abstract: A toothbrush, in the neck region of which there is an integral thinned part laterally surrounded by a mass of elastomeric material bonded to the plastics material, the mass being of a shape which bulges laterally beyond the line of the surface of the longitudinally adjacent parts of the neck or the head to which it is connected. The thinned part and the bulging mass provide a toothbrush of improved flexibility.
Abstract: This invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for use as a direct compression tableting agent containing carbonyl iron and a process for making the same.
Abstract: This invention relates to a process for making a toothbrush comprising making a toothbrush head having at its basal end a first engagement part, then making a toothbrush grip handle from a plastics material by a handle molding process, during the handle molding process forming a second engagement part at the head end of the handle in engagement with the first engagement part, such that the engagement between the first and second engagement parts retains the head and grip handle together, and toothbrushes made by this process.
