  • Patent number: 7539705
Abstract: A system and method for managing a device profile in a communications device based on a computer application environment wherein the device profile is indicative of a computer application environment. A computer software agent inspects application program attributes of at least one running application on the user's computer. The device profile is managed responsive to said inspection. A notification system notifies a party attempting to contact the user's communication device with an indication corresponding to termination of communication. The notification system informs the user regarding details of attempted communications occurring while the at least one application was running, such as time of communications, identity and communication information of communicators, whether disabled communicator left a message, and the like.

  • Patent number: 7519181
Abstract: A system, method and computer program for enforcing network cluster proximity requirements using a proxy is useful in preventing unauthorized devices from receiving encrypted broadcast content intended for only authorized users within a network cluster. The current art allows users to remotely establish trust via a cryptographic handshake. This results in encrypted broadcast content being delivered to unauthorized devices. The present invention assures that encrypted broadcast content is delivered to only authorized devices, allowing authorized remote devices to receive encrypted broadcast content while preventing unauthorized remote devices from doing so. The present invention enforces network proximity requirements to authorized devices within a defined area by timing the cryptographic handshaking, and by authorizing device proxies within a geographic area for retransmitting to authorized remote devices outside said geographic area.

  • Patent number: 7389912
Abstract: A system for providing credit card sub-accounts with varying credit limits is useful to consolidate many accounts into one account. The present invention allows a user to add others to an existing account with the safety of setting credit limits for each sub-account to prevent sub-account holders from abusing the user's account features, funds, credit limits, and the like. Credit limits for sub-accounts can be configured by an exact amount, a percentage of the total credit limit, a percentage of the credit available, or a combination of these methods, and can also be per transaction, type of establishment where transaction takes place, or types of products or services attempting to be purchased.

  • Patent number: 7356759
Abstract: A system, method, and related computer program for automatically cataloging Web elements, such as text and color, in a Web document for use by those performing searches for Web documents containing specific Web elements. The present invention allows users to scan Web elements into a Web site database where they are automatically cataloged for future searches of the particular element data. Searchers can search for a source document containing a particular color and/or text. Users may enter values related to scanned-in Web elements on source documents, such as an alternate color that may be used in addition to or instead of the scanned in color on said source document. Web elements or graphics are cataloged in a manner that allows users to query an entire set of objects quickly by accessing the database values. A user is able to automatically change text or color values on a global basis. Alternate values entered into the Web site database override Web element data previously scanned into the database.

  • Patent number: 7333773
Abstract: A comprehensive method for coordinating cellular phones in a residential area to obviate the need for wired residential service. The present invention includes coordinating a set of wireless devices in a residential area to be able to receive a call directed to a user's cellular telephone. Said wireless devices can have different numbers and be serviced by different providers than the user's cellular telephone. Peer-to-peer relationships are formed between associated wireless communications devices, similar to IEEE 802.11 peer-to-peer relationships. A call could also be answered by another cellular telephone, or other device, such as a computer. All communicating handsets of associated wireless communications devices could join the call. The present invention would prevent a user from missing any incoming calls while at the user's residence.

  • Patent number: 7073052
Abstract: Advanced computer hibernation functions are useful in saving a user's work environment when a user logs off a computer. The current art requires powering off the computer when entering into hibernation, and only allows a user to store a single non-reusable hibernation file for use in restoring operation when the computer is subsequently powered on. The present invention allows hibernation files to be created and stored without requiring a user to power off the computer to enter hibernation mode. Once the hibernation files are created and stored, a user achieves faster shut down of the computer when the user enters into hibernation mode by selecting from one of the existing hibernation files for advanced hibernation mode. Multiple users are allowed to save multiple work environments or files while maintaining privacy regarding each user's work environments by requiring log on identification passwords for each user.
