  • Patent number: 6208130
Abstract: The disclosure involves a transfer switch having a stationary frame and a front terminal matrix for connection to circuit boards undergoing test. There are two stationary connectors mounted on the switch frame. A platform is supported by the frame for reciprocating movement between first and second positions. Such platform has two movable connectors thereon and when the platform is in the first position, one of the movable connectors engages or “plug-connects” to one of the stationary connectors. When the platform is in the second position, the other movable connector plug-connects to the other stationary connector. The stationary connectors are electrically coupled to respective test devices, e.g., a load board and a signal bus. Thus, the boards under test can be connected to one or the other of the test devices by shifting the position of the platform. A new method is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 6205584
Abstract: A fireman's coat and drag harness therefore are provided. The drag harness includes first and second work portions received within the coat adjacent the corresponding arm portions thereof. The loop portions extend about corresponding arms of the wearer of the coat. A drag loop is operatively connected to the first and second loop portions. The drag loop extends through an opening in the torso portion of the coat so as to allow a potential rescuer to grasp the drag loop in order to drag an incapacitated person to safety.

  • Patent number: 6205869
Abstract: A fluid-sampling method and apparatus are disclosed. The apparatus includes a valve assembly, an overflow chamber assembly, a vacuum assembly and a sample bottle mounting assembly in particular arrangements. In certain preferred embodiments the overflow chamber assembly has an inner vessel, preferably a standpipe, within an outer vessel which forms an overflow chamber in which fluid from the standpipe can be viewed. The valve assembly preferably includes a sampling valve with an outer shell, an insert member and a pivotable valve member therein. The pivotable valve member preferably has a main body portion with first and second circumferential grooves therein and a diagonal bore therethrough for properly directing fluid from and through particular ports in the insert member based on the position of the valve member.

  • Patent number: RE37153
Abstract: A variable pressure reducing device for reducing high pressure in steam and hot water samples forces the liquid through an annular passageway between a pair of rods within a complementary pair of tubes. The flow rate through the rod-in-tube device, or the pressure drop across the device, is adjustable by means of a rotatable guide screw for adjusting the position of the rods within the tubes. The rods are tapered to provide a smooth flow of liquid through the device. The seal around the guide screw is self energized by means of a seal jacket between a valve gland and a stem portion of the guide screw constructed so that the biasing force of a spring on the seal jacket is supplemented by pressure from liquid flowing through the device The guide screw is centered within the valve gland to keep the guide screw properly aligned, particularly when the device is used with a motor for rotating the guide screw to adjust the position of the rods.
