Abstract: A method for LED-module assembly comprising the steps of providing a base portion with a base inner surface and a cover with a cover inner surface which together define a module interior, the cover having at least one opening therethrough; putting a sealing member into the module interior; positioning an LED lens into the cover opening; aligning an LED emitter and the LED lens within the module interior; sealing the module interior by securing the base portion with respect to the cover. The LED emitter is powered for imaging of the LED module to test light-output characteristics. A specific type of the LED lens is selected and its type and orientation are verified. The step of vacuum testing checks for water-air/tightness of the sealing of LED-module interior. A central database provides assembly and testing parameters to automated tool(s) performing each particular step.

Abstract: The needle board for a needling machine has a base plate with a plurality of receptacles, and a plurality of needle modules. Each needle module has a carrier plate, which is equipped with a plurality of needles arranged in a predetermined pattern and which is inserted into one of the receptacles in the base plate in such a way that the needles project from the base plate.
Abstract: An LED floodlight fixture includes (1) a housing that has (a) at least one end-portion and (b) a single-piece extrusion including (i) a base having an LED-adjacent surface and an opposite surface and (ii) a heat-dissipating section having heat-dissipating surfaces extending from the opposite surface, and (2) an LED arrangement mounted to the LED-adjacent surface in non-water/air-tight condition with respect to the housing. The housing preferably forms at least one venting gap to provide cool-air ingress to and along the heat-dissipating surfaces by upward flow of heated air therefrom. Additionally and/or alternatively, the base of the single-piece extrusion has one or more venting apertures to provide cool-air ingress for such purpose. One aspect of the invention involves the heat-dissipating section of the extrusion including a closed extruded wireway therealong enclosing wires extending to/from electrical component(s).

Abstract: An LED apparatus for illumination toward a preferential side in a downward and outward direction including a shield member in the form of a layer positioned over LED packages and secondary lens members. The shield member has a shield portion and a substantially planar non-shield portion thereabout. In preferred embodiments, the shield portion extends over a part of the lens portion of the secondary lens member. A cover preferably secures the shield member with respect to the secondary lens member, the primary lens and the LED package, the shield member preferably being sandwiched between the cover and the flange of the secondary lens member.
Abstract: The sealing strip roll has a partially compressed, open-cell, soft foam, which undergoes delayed recovery after compression and subsequent release. A thin, closed layer of a flexible or film-like material with a thickness of 0.002-0.5 mm is bonded to the foam on at least one side surface of the foam.
Abstract: An LED lighting fixture including a housing including a first and second border structures. An LED assembly is secured with respect to the housing to permit air/water-flow over the LED assembly. The LED assembly includes at least one LED-array module mounted at an elongate LED heat sink that extends along the housing and between two heat-sink ends. The heat sink has an LED-module-engaging surface and a heat-transfer surface. One heat-sink end is at the first border structure and the other heat-sink end is at the second border structure. The housing and the heat sink define an air gap permitting air/water-flow to and from the heat sink.

Abstract: The drive and guide device for a needle bar of a needle loom having a machine stand includes a first crankshaft rotatably supported in the machine stand; a needle bar supported in the machine stand; a first connecting rod supported on a first cam of the first crankshaft and connected to the needle bar; and a guide device for guiding the needle bar along a path extending perpendicular to the needle-punching support surface. The first connecting rod and/or the guide device comprises a leaf spring, which is rigidly connected to the needle bar to transmit a drive or guide force. As a result, lubrication points on elements of the needle loom which move from place to place are eliminated.
Abstract: A strap system for securing an object to a dolly. The strap system includes a first strap section having first and second ends and releasably attached to the dolly at the first end and a second strap section having first and second ends and releasably attached to the dolly at the first end. The second end of the first strap section and the second end of the second strap section are releasably attached to each other.
Abstract: A polymer-cement composite comprises, by weight percent, about 40% to 50% inert, inorganic filler material, such as silica sand; about 12% to 23% latex, preferably in aqueous suspension; about 20% to 25% hydraulic cement; and reactive silica in an amount of at least about 6 weight percent. The reactive silica is a pozzolanic material, and in preferred embodiments, where the cement is portland cement, comprises an advantageous mixture of precipitated and ground silica. All solid components have a particle size of less than about 300 microns. The polymer-cement composite is preferably made by dry mixing of the powdered components throughly in a high intensity mixer, adding the liquid components, and wet mixing to form a thoroughly blended, de-aired green mixture. The green mixture is formed into any desired shape, cured, and dried. Preferably, the product is cured in a warm, moist environment.

Abstract: A level of the type having an elongate hollow frame including two sidewalls each defining axially aligned vial openings into the frame. A vial casing is secured with respect to the frame and defines a hermetically sealed single-cavity casing interior entirely enclosing a liquid-and-bubble vial with a substantially cylindrical outer surface extending between two vial ends. The casing is formed of two opposite round face-walls and a surrounding cylindrical wall therebetween. The cylindrical wall has a pair of opposed major wall-portions of first thickness and a pair of opposed intervening wall-portions of second thickness greater than the first thickness. Each intervening wall-portion defines a recess which snugly receives a corresponding one of the vial ends.
