  • Patent number: 7041752
Abstract: Polytetrahydrofuran, polytetrahydrofuran copolymers, diesters or monoesters of these polymers are prepared by polymerization of tetrahydrofuran in the presence of at least one telogen and/or comonomer, which is in the form of shaped catalyst bodies or catalyst particles having a volume of the individual shape of the body or particle of at least 0.05 mm3, preferably at least 0.2 mm3, in particular 1 mm3, and has at least one of the features a) and b): a) a pore radius distribution having at least one maximum in the pore radius range from 100 to 5000 ?, b) a pore volume of catalyst pores having radii of 200–3000 ? of greater than 0.05 cm3/g and/or a pore volume of pores having radii of 200–5000 ? of greater than 0.075 cm3/g and/or a pore volume of pores having radii of >200 ? of greater than 0.1 cm3/g.

  • Patent number: 7038098
Abstract: C2–C30-alkanes are dehydrogenated in a process in which (i) ethylbenzene is dehydrogenated to styrene in a first part process to give a hydrogen-containing offgas stream, and (ii) one or more C2–C30-alkanes are dehydrogenated in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst in one or more reaction zones in a second part process to give the corresponding olefins, with a hydrogen-containing gas stream being mixed into the reaction gas mixture of the dehydrogenation in at least one reaction zone, wherein at least part of the hydrogen-containing offgas stream obtained in the dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene is mixed into the reaction gas mixture of the alkane dehydrogenation.

  • Patent number: 7037478
Abstract: A process for the continuous preparation of hydroxylammonium salts by catalytic reduction of nitrogen monoxide by means of hydrogen in a dilute aqueous solution of mineral acid in a plurality of reaction stages connected in series comprises dividing the incoming stream of dilute aqueous solution of mineral acid into at least two substreams before it is fed into the plurality of reaction stages connected in series, feeding a first of these substreams to the first reaction stage, feeding a second of these substreams to a reaction stage other than the first, where the inflow of dilute aqueous solution of mineral acid into the plurality of reaction stages connected in series is controlled by means of the pH in this reaction stage other than the first.

  • Patent number: 7015361
Abstract: Olefins having at least 6 carbon atoms are hydroformylated in the presence of a homogeneous catalyst in a continuous process in which a) a vertical tall cylindrical reactor (1) whose interior space is divided by means of internals (2) into at least two reaction chambers which extend essentially in the longitudinal direction of the reactor is used, b) at least one olefin is introduced into the reactor together with synthesis gas at the lower end of the first reaction chamber, c) a partially reacted reaction mixture is conveyed from the upper end of a reaction chamber to the lower end of a next reaction chamber; and d) the hydroformylated olefin is taken off at the upper end of the last reaction chamber. The process allows a high conversion at a given reactor volume.
