  • Patent number: 5730488
Abstract: A folding chair having cylindrical devices for supporting the back-support part of the chair. The folding chair comprises a seat-base part having a seat cloth and two loop-shaped frames pivotedly connected to each other and two joint members each having two extended arms for hingedly connecting the back-support part to the seat-base part. The back-support part includes a back cloth and two supporting tubes. A cylindrical device having a concave surface with two slightly protruded edges on one end is plugged and locked into the bottom opening of each of said supporting tubes. The supporting tubes sit firmly on the upper sections of the frames of the seat-base part by means of matched surface curvature when the back-support part is hingedly opened.

  • Patent number: 5567270
Abstract: A process of forming contact holes having tapered sidewalls is accomplished by establishing sidewall spacers in the contact hole area. A photo-resist layer is formed on top of a semiconductor device having a substrate with doped regions, a polysilicon layer and a multi-layer insulating structure. The photo-resist layer has openings defining area slightly larger than the sizes of the actual contact holes. The multi-layer insulating structure is anisotropically eteched to remove one half of the thickness in the opening area and a void with vertical sidewall is formed in the insulating structure. After etching, the photo-resist layer is removed and a temporary insulating layer having the same composition as the top layer of the multi-layer insulating structure is deposited uniformly over the surface of the multi-layer insulating structure. The temporary insulating layer is etched and removed by anisotropically etching process.

  • Patent number: 5565694
Abstract: A light emitting diode includes a first conductivity type GaAs substrate having a second conductivity type region as a current blocking layer. A first conductivity type distributed Bragg reflector layer is formed on the GaAs substrate. An AlGaInP double heterostructure including a lower cladding AlGaInP layer of the first conductivity type, an undoped active AlGaInP layer, and an upper cladding AlGaInP layer of the second conductivity type is grown on top of the distributed Bragg reflector layer. The undoped active AlGaInP layer can also be replaced by a multi-layer quantum well structure of AlGaInP or a strained multi-layer quantum well structure of AlGaInP. A second conductivity type layer of low energy band gap and high conductivity material is formed on the AlGaInP double heterostructure. A GaP window layer of the second conductivity type is then formed on top of the low energy band gap layer.

  • Patent number: 5556192
Abstract: A perfumer structure with an optically controlled night lamp is disclosed. The perfumer structure includes a heat conductor wrapped by a heat conductive and fireproof plastic material for generating heat to vaporize a solid perfume and uniformly disperse perfume gas. The night lamp is disposed in the perfumer structure and controlled by an optically sensitive element which turns on/off the lamp according to the ambient illumination. The perfumer structure is powered on via a single power plug and has both the functions of dispersing perfume gas to clean the air and illuminating at night.

  • Patent number: 5549224
Abstract: A liquid medicine container includes a container body having threaded neck with an opening formed thereon for the entry of a liquid medicine into the container body. A seal member is fit into the opening to seal it. A through hole is formed on the seal member to be in fluid communication with the interior of the container body. The neck has a circumferential flange formed thereon with two recesses formed on the flange. The neck also has a groove formed thereon and extending in a direction substantially normal to the threading of the neck from a point close the circumferential flange, crossing the neck threading, to a point close to the opening. A cap member has an open end with segmented threading formed therein to be engageable with the neck threading for tightening the cap member on the neck wherein the edge of the open end of the cap member is in contact engagement with the flange and two bosses formed on the edge of the open end of the cap member received within the recesses formed on the flange.
