Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed which cyclically varies the angle of incline of an elongate member or board of the apparatus, thus allowing the user the benefits of a continually varying angle without interrupting the exercise regimen. The exercise apparatus of the present invention comprises an elongate member having first and second ends. Disposed at the first end of the elongate member are rollers. Additionally, a mechanism for reversibly inclining the second end of the elongate member to a predetermined height are also provided.
Abstract: A seal assembly for effecting a seal between a stationary housing and a rotatable cylinder includes a plurality of arcuate segments radially disposed about the outer circumference of the cylinder. Each segment has an axial sealing surface defining a radius approximately equal to that of the rotatable cylinder and additionally has an end section for overlapping adjacent segments thus creating a gap and radial interface between the adjacent circumferentially disposed segments. The sealing assembly additionally comprises means for sealing the gaps formed by the adjacent overlapping segments, apparatus for tensioning the segments radially about the outside circumference of the cylinder and studs for removably attaching each segment to the housing while concurrently permitting radial displacement of each segment independently from its adjacent segments.
Abstract: A low force skeletal adjusting device comprises a first elastomeric member having a surface for contacting the hand. Said surface located opposite a surface for contacting a selected portion of the anatomy. Said elastomeric member is retained within a solid rigid member to provide support therefor. The surface for contacting the hand is substantially larger in diameter than the surface for contacting the anatomy thus, the force per unit area applied to the surface for contacting the hand is substantially less than the force per unit area applied to the selected anatomy by the surface for contacting same. Therefore, the requisite therapeutic force can be advantageously controlled to a fine degree.
