  • Patent number: 6792723
Abstract: A deck drain is made from extruded plastic with a cross section defining a substantially circular main channel, a mid section, and a top section having a top face with a plurality of openings defined therein. Nail guiding means are attached to the mid section, and direct a nail or screw through the mid section to secure the deck drain to a planar surface. Edges of two or more of the structural elements are aligned vertically to permit the deck drain to contact the planar surface without wobbling when attached.

  • Patent number: 6634032
Abstract: A toilet seat handle adapted to fit within an opening in a toilet seat or lid. The toilet seat handle comprises an inner tab adapted to be inserted into an opening in a toilet seat or lid. A finger grip attaches to the inner tab and extending outward from the opening in the toilet seat or lid. A spongy material housed with the finger grip for holding a quantity of disinfectant to be dispensed through a cavity in the finger grip.

  • Patent number: 6506349
Abstract: A selected contaminant is removed from a gas stream containing an unselected component that is also absorbed by the solvent, although to a lesser degree than the selected contaminant. In a typical application, hydrogen sulfide is removed from a natural gas stream that contains carbon dioxide as an unselected component. The process employs a solvent absorption/regeneration sequence, carried out in an absorber and regenerator, to remove the selected contaminant (hydrogen sulfide, for example) from the gas stream. The overhead gas from the regenerator has a higher concentration of the selected contaminant than the original gas stream. This contaminant rich overhead gas stream is partially employed as a recycle stream that is combined with the original gas stream, with the resulting combined gas stream being fed to the absorber.

  • Patent number: 6464100
Abstract: An insulating cover for a container has a substantially cylindrical sidewall member and a contiguous bottom member. The sidewall and bottom members are preferably formed from a thin sheet of insulating material. The sidewall member has end sections that overlap in an unexpanded orientation. The bottom member has an annular portion than can be adapted to engage the bottom of the container. In another embodiment, a number of substantially identical tabs engage the bottom of the container. The tabs extend from the inner radius of the bottom member annular portion toward the axis of the sidewall member, and are spaced apart so that they do not overlap.

  • Patent number: 6216886
Abstract: A hanger adapted to attach to a post has a skirt attached to the bottom side of a substantially horizontal base plate having a hole defined therein. A tubular sleeve is attached to the base plate just below the hole. The end of the sleeve distant from the base plate hole is capped by a stop plate. A pole rests on the stop plate in the sleeve and extends upward through the hole in the base plate. A number of arms are attached to the top of the pole and extend radially away from it. A projection on the pole is designed to fit within gaps defined between a number of stops attached to the base plate. The pole is set to different positions by raising the pole until the projection is above a gap, turning the pole until the projection is over a different gap, and lowering the pole back down such that the projection rests within the different gap.

  • Patent number: 6088837
Abstract: A cap includes a visor having a fixed rear section attached to the crown and a fore section pivotally attached to the rear section. Functionally identical latches, made up of pairs of fingers and mating catches with prongs that engage the finger in a ratchet-and-pawl action, act to engage the pivotable section and hold it vertically up or down, depending on which prongs engage the fingers. An alternative embodiment employs an adjustable headband rather than a cap and crown.

  • Patent number: 5776573
Abstract: A composition for use in refinishing optical discs comprises a mixture of volatile organic solvents having solubility parameters within a defined range, a chemically reactive nonvolatile binder, insoluble particulate material for polishing, and an immiscible phase forming an emulsion with the other components, thereby holding the particulate matter in suspension. Anionic surfactants are added to improve wetting, along with a conventional wetting agent. The mixture of solvents promotes reflow of the disc surface, while the binder fills in deformations and provides a permanent protective coating.

  • Patent number: 5716587
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for removal of contaminate(s) from a gas stream in an oil or gas refinery using an absorber-regenerator process wherein a portion of the contaminate rich overhead gas from the regenerator is utilized to increase the partial pressure of the contaminate at the absorber so as to enhance selective absorption of the contaminate(s).

  • Patent number: 5529557
Abstract: A frame has a base and four vertical members supporting a pair of longitudinal supports spaced evenly apart to define a slot. A pair of seats are arranged in opposition at the ends of the frame and a exercise arm is located between the seats. The exercise arm reciprocates between the seats, and has handles for gripping. A dashpot provides resistance to movement of the exercise arm. The device can be adapted for use by one or two users.
