  • Patent number: 4961508
Abstract: A condiment dispenser is provided having a length of resilient elastic tubing with an upper tube section and a lower tube section. An arm is pivotally mounted adjacent the tubing and moveable through dispensing and return strokes. The arm has an upper arm portion adjacent the upper tube section and a lower arm portion adjacent the lower tube section. During the dispensing stroke, the upper arm portion moves to compress the upper tube section against a wall on the opposite side of the tubing while the lower arm position retracts from the lower tube section to cause the condiment to be dispensed. The return stroke is caused by the return of the compressed upper tube section to a less compressed section, causing the lower arm section to compress and close the tubing at the lower tube section against the wall.

  • Patent number: 4945620
Abstract: In a machine tool provided with a spindle head carrier and a spindle head mounted thereon when a drive shaft supported in the spindle head carrier drives a spindle via gears, an oil circulation chamber is provided for lubricating the gears. The chamber is sealed against the stationary part of the spindle head by sealing members, which are charged with compressed air via compressed pressure supply lines, and which direct compressed air to front sealing surfaces of the sealing members cooperating with rotating opposed sealing surfaces. The pressure ratios and the line cross-section are selected so that a sealing gap exists for the seal between the rotating opposed sealing surfaces and the sealing surfaces of the sealing members for contactless sealing.

  • Patent number: 4926039
Abstract: A streaking or framing image tube includes a photocathode (4), three grid electrodes (1, 2 and 3), a focus electrode (5) and an anode (6) disposed successively along the image tube. The tube is gated by applying a positive voltage pulse first to the second grid electrode (2) and then to the photocathode (4), the delay time between the application of the pulse to the second grid and the photocathode being the gated "on" time of the image tube, while during the application of the pulse to the second grid electrode (2) and the photocathode (4), the potentials of the first and third grid electrodes (1, 3) are held constant at a constant value, and accordingly ultra high speed gating (e.g. allowing the passage of electrons for less than 10.sup.-9 seconds) can be achieved without effect on the magnification or resolution performance of the image tube.

  • Patent number: 4878397
Abstract: Novel handlebars for a bicycle are disclosed. The handlebars include a crosspiece connected to a bicycle steering post with sideways portions extending therefrom. The handlebars of the invention have hand grip portions that are located relatively close together to encourage the rider to adopt a riding position in which the frontal area of the rider's silhouette is minimized, and in which the rider's elbows are located ahead of the rider's lungs. Turned handlebar portions extend from the sideways portions and extend generally forwardly and inwardly to define a pair of forward handle portions spaced apart a distance less than the width of the crosspiece. A front loop portion interconnects the forward handle portions so that all of the portions define a continuous loop forward of the steering post.A handlebar adapter is provided for a bicycle having an original handlebar.

  • Patent number: 4858932
Abstract: In order to provide a reel type gaming apparatus with the capability to pay out winnings having a higher value than an apparatus where the reels have an equal probability of stopping at each reel stop, a table is created in memory having pairs of lower and upper numerical limits which define groups of subintervals that in turn correspond to reel stops. A random number is generated and the subinterval which includes the number is identified and the reel is stopped at the corresponding reel stop. The interval between the upper and lower limits for each subinterval defines the relative stopping probability for the corresponding reel stop. In another approach probability factors are assigned to each reel stop and a microprocessor subtracts the value of each probability factor from a randomly generated probability value and increments a reel stop index until the probability value is less than the probability factor for the current stop index.
