  • Patent number: 4381585
Abstract: A clamping self locking collar includes a split ring, an actuating lever, and a buckle. The lever engages one end of the clamping split ring and the buckle is associated with the other end of the ring. The lever coacts with the buckle in an overcenter manner to positively lock the clamping collar around an article of a predetermined size. The various elements of the collar are produced from a single injection moulding step and are kept together prior to assembly by the inclusion of frangible connections and flexible filaments. No tool is necessary for installation of the clamp or for ensuring safety and intensiveness of the clamping.

  • Patent number: 4373694
Abstract: An adjustable shelf support having a standard with a shelf bracket capable of infinite adjustability. The standard has a L-shaped cross section, a first leg of the `L` lying along the supporting surface and a second leg extending outwardly therefrom. The free end of the second leg is folded back towards the first leg forming two parallel, spaced extensions. The bracket is planar with two fingers extending outwardly from but parallel to the plane of the bracket. The upper finger is inserted behind the free end of the second leg by rotating the bracket downward. This brings the flat trailing edge between two protrusions formed on the first arm and allows the second finger to snap into place behind the free end of the second leg, thereby, preventing accidental dislodgement by an upward force. The distance between the flat trailing edge and the farthest extent of the first protrusion slightly exceeds the length of the inner wall of the second leg.

  • Patent number: 4354722
Abstract: This invention is a terminal connector device for electrical wires and comprises a flap member movable under the action of an actuating button, which flap is interposed, in a biased position, between a terminal entry member and a wire receiving support. The withdrawal of said flap from this interposing position, under the action of said button, permits the introduction of the wire whose connecting is obtained automatically by lateral wedging of the wire inserted into said receiving support by the action of said flap, when the button is released. The button is lockable to hold said flap in its retracted position permitting introduction of the wire, which position also enables the disconnection of a previously positioned wire.

  • Patent number: 4342631
Abstract: There is disclosed a new and improved gasless ion plating apparatus and process which eliminates the prior need for electrically isolating the substrate from the evacuated chamber in which the plating process is performed. In accordance with a disclosed embodiment, one or more substrates to be plated are placed within the chamber. Also within the chamber there is disposed a plating source which includes plating material. The chamber is evacuated and the plating material is heated to vaporize the plating material. Radio frequency energy is applied to the plating source to form a plasma of positively charged plating ions from the vaporized plating material. A positive direct current bias is developed on the plating source relative to the substrates by, for example, applying a direct current positive voltage to the plating source to create an electrical field between the source and substrates for accelerating the plating ions towards the substrates for plating the same.

The plug having a stem with a head at its end and rows of radial wings arranged along its length. A stud extends from the opposite side of the flange coaxial with the plug. A flexible strap member is attached to the flange by a bifurcated end having a pair of legs formed by an opening in the strap end. The strap extends from the flange in the same direction as the stud with the stud extending into the opening with the legs straddling the stud. The strap is provided with a series of stud receiving openings for engaging the stud when the strap is formed into a loop. The flexible legs of the strap permit the strap to be rotated or folded relative to the longitudinal axis of the plug and stud so that it extends perpendicular thereto to permit the stud receiving openings to engage the stud.
