Abstract: Apparatus mounting to the flat of the top blade of a scissors or like cutting device, intermediate its ends, and forming an assembly thereof in use, comprises a holder having a generally oblong substantially block-like configuration one surface portion of which provides its bottom and correspondingly its base as it seats to the aforementioned flat and projects therefrom in a perpendicularly projected relation thereto. This base is provided with means causing it to adhere to said flat. A second surface portion of this holder is distinguished by an inwardly directed slit which accommodates and defines a grip portion of the holder which receives, accommodates and retains a portion of a slide gage rule or its equivalent to establish the rule in a perpendicularly projected relation to that flat to which the holder seats.

  • Patent number: 4995134
Abstract: Invention embodiments comprise two separate and distinct parts, a mop support device and a cap embodying a tubular portion defining a through passage which is tapped intermediate its ends, to enable a secure balanced connection thereof to a mop handle. In the embodiment illustrated the mop support device is comprised of a narrow elongated plate-like saddle portion one face of which mounts a plurality of parallel, relatively spaced, perpendicularly projected pins and coupling elements which project therefrom in generally the same direction as the pins. Projected portions of said coupling elements interrelate with complementary engaging elements disposed within and forming part of the cap. The mop support device is easily applied to and through a mop to establish its saddle portion and pins in underlying engaged relation to a distinct portion of the applied mop which is set within the limits of its projected coupling elements.

  • Patent number: 4982698
Abstract: Animal operated feeder comprising a vertically extended holding bin having a shallow feeding tray spaced below and projected forwardly of its bottom. The bin includes a dispensing outlet normally sealed by a closure device a portion of which projects therefrom, over and in vertically spaced relation to a rear portion of the tray. The bin also incorporates baffle structure which underlies and carries the major portion of the weight of the feed load and defines within the bin, at a location offset and vertically displaced from the dispensing outlet, a restricted opening for feed to move thereby to an uppermost portion of the upper surface of a downwardly inclined baffle plate immediately thereunder which supports and directs the amount of feed which it receives along its length, which extends to a point adjacent and spaced from the vicinity of the dispensing outlet where a lower end portion thereof defines a limited passage for feed to move thereby to this outlet.

  • Patent number: 4960085
Abstract: Engine pre-engage starters formed of compactly interfit sections featuring a universally applicable high speed turbine rotor, formed preferably of nylon based plastic, the body of which is distinguished by low tensile strength, high impact resistance, radial growth and adjustment in correspondence with the speed of its rotation, minimal evidence of stress and no material fracture even under the most adverse conditions of its use and a structural composition which reduces to powder form when subjected to friction at such time the speed of its rotation reaches and exceeds a prescribed limit. The rotor is so connected with its power transmission shaft to position beyond and form an axial extension of one end thereof. The rotor is contained by a peripherally encompassing structurally complementary plastic buffer which enhances its fail safe properties. Optionally, the starter housing may be provided with discretely positioned sound deadening inserts.

  • Patent number: 4890703
Abstract: Apparatus applicable to the piston rod of a control cylinder inherently operable to selectively limit and control the extent of its retraction. A preferred illustrative embodiment, as applied in use, conforms to a generally L-shaped structure the long leg of which is slim, substantially uniform in width, at least in part transversely arcuate along the length of its inner operative surface, highly resistant to compression and has its base end pivotally connected to the short leg of said structure. Springs interposed between these legs in the pivotal interconnection thereof are established in a secure and stable relation thereto in a manner to positively apply in continuing bias on the long leg which induces it to incline to and over the length of the short leg to inherently form therewith an acute angle. These legs are so formed to lend the minimal amount of material of which they are comprised a very high degree of load bearing strength for their size.

  • Patent number: 4817349
Abstract: Apparatus for use in heating, ventilating, cooling and/or regulating the temperature of rooms in a building including a facade which comprises a framework of hollow posts and hollow girders is distinguished by sections of the hollow posts and hollow girders being connected to one another in flow, in fixed manner, for the conduction of a heat transfer fluid and an air stream between a delivery line and a return flow line. A distinguishing feature is that the hollow posts are constructed in two pieces or parts, each of which parts includes two channels one of which provides for the conduction of a heat transfer fluid and the other for the conduction of a further fluid such as an air stream. In the preferred form illustrated the post parts are made to be generally C-shaped in cross section. As thus provided the C-shape cross section of each part shows that it includes a double-walled base leg portion incorporating both the channel for the heat transfer fluid and a channel for further fluid.
