  • Patent number: 3947082
Abstract: An improved tooth configuration for the contact surface of an electrical connector comprises a rearwardly sloping generally V-shaped upper surface peripherally circumscribed by upstanding side and rear walls communicating therewith along a sharp continuous edge. The apex of the V-shape is located at the communication of the obliquely disposed side walls and may have a height less than the height of the side walls at their distal ends. The teeth may be arranged in a series of parallel rows wherein the teeth in one row may be either similarly or oppositely oriented with respect to the teeth in an adjacent row.

  • Patent number: 3946768
Abstract: A wire harness board comprises a foamed plastic panel, a first layer of wire mesh secured to one surface of the panel, a second layer of wire mesh secured in parallel relationship to the opposite surface of the panel, and a border that snugly fits over the parallel surfaces of the foamed panel with the wire mesh joined thereto. A unique method of forming such wire harness board, including the application of heat and pressure for a predetermined interval of time, is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 3943608
Abstract: A bundling strap specially constructed to be ultrasonically welded to form a locked loop about a plurality of articles to be bundled and a method for carrying out the welding. A central strap body is formed with at least one marginal strip joined to the central body portion along a marginal edge thereof, the marginal strip carrying an energy directing means to concentrate applied ultrasonic energy and produce a bond between such energy directing means and the overlying marginal strip. A method whereby the anvil remains outside of the strap loop permits the loop to be formed and the anvil to be easily later removed without affecting bundle tension.

  • Patent number: 3935730
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method and gauge for nondestructively testing and certifying the workable qualities of a casting. The guage comprises a tab cast at the same time as the remaining portion of the casting located in a nonfunctional location, when considered in the light of the later use to be made of the casting, and also in such a position that it can be bent as by striking with a percussive instrument or by the application of a continuous bending force without damage to the remaining portion of the casting. The tab or guage will be subjected to a strain greater than the maximum strain to which the remaining portion of the casting will be subjected, during its installation or use, and determining by visual inspection whether or not the tab, at its bend has cracked, the overall ductility of the casting can be judged and it can be projected, that the casting will be able to withstand the forces to which it will be subjected when employed in a desired manner.

  • Patent number: 3930393
Abstract: A pair of cooperating die members are disposed in a housing and arranged to slidably move along respective intersecting axes so that a forming portion of one of the die members is caused to progressively approach the nest portion of the other die member along an incline terminating at the nose portion of the housing, the nest portion of the one die member being arranged to support a preferably U-shaped deformable terminal, the arms of which are then caused to be contacted by the forming portion of the other die member and longitudinally progressively folded inwardly against one or more articles located within the terminal.
