Abstract: A conveyor includes floor slats 36 connected to transverse drive beams 20 by connectors 22. Each connector 22 comprises a base 24 secured to the corresponding drive beam 20 and a nut element 30. Laterally elongated openings in the base allow the base and nut element to move laterally in relation to one another during attachment of the floor slat 36 to the drive beam 20. The base and nut element may have a laterally extending tongue and groove interface 42. Each slat has longitudinally spaced preformed openings at least one of which is positioned over each drive beam to allow the slat to be connected to any one of the drive beams.
