  • Patent number: 6209878
Abstract: A collapsible, portable sporting goal frame is provided, having a pair of side support frames connected by a pair of flexible cables. Each of the side frames is constructed of a sequence of individual tubular frame members that connect to one another on an end-to-end basis. An elastic cord runs through each of the tubular members, and is placed in a stretched configuration when the tubular members are slidably connected together, end-to-end. The elastic cord thereby applies a compressive force against the connected frame members, resisting the unintentional disassembly thereof. When storage or transport is required, the individual members slide apart, with the elastic cord maintaining sequential order of the frame members. The net is attached to the flexible cables and the tubular frame members collapse in a manner forming a take-up spindle for the netting.

  • Patent number: 5839728
Abstract: An independent event dice game that is easy-to-play provides dice to each player and to the dealer or house. After all bets are placed, the players sequentially throw their respective dice, with the throw results separately kept for each player. The dealer's dice are then likewise thrown, with winning players defined as those having dice throws of greater numerical value that the dice throw of the dealer. Certain numeric values are defined to be "wild," and dice throw values of "2", "11", and "12" for a player will win regardless of the dealer's throw value. In a similar manner, the dealer throw value of "3" is also considered to be "wild", and will win over any player-thrown value except the "wild"values of "2", "11", and "12". At the conclusion of each play, all dice are collected to a central location, and are then distributed by the dealer after bets are placed for the next succeeding game.

  • Patent number: 5690337
Abstract: A method and apparatus for playing a casino card game is disclosed that utilizes a single, 41-card deck of playing cards consisting of a standard, 4-suit playing card deck from which all "face" cards have been removed and a single "joker" card has been added. Play of the game starts with a first player selecting a card value, termed the "dealer number". No bets can be placed on the dealer number. Players may then place their wagers(s) on any of the remaining "live" numbers, and the dealer deals a first playing card, face up. If the identified "dealer number" card value is turned over, all players having placed a bet on any of the "live" numbers win, and are paid off even money. If the card has a value other than the "dealer number", the house wins all bets placed on the "value" number of the card that was turned over, and that value number is thereafter considered "dead".

  • Patent number: 5583585
Abstract: In accordance with the invention, there is provided an eyeglass temple piece protector that is prepared with a first elongate strip of plastic material superposed on a second elongate strip of plastic material to form a hollow sleeve. The sleeve has a front side, a back side, a closed end, and an open end. The sleeve is further adapted to receive a temple piece of a pair of eyeglasses from the open end to the closed end. The front side of the sleeve extends beyond the backside of the sleeve to form a flange at the open end. Also provided in accordance with the invention is a method to manufacture an eyeglass temple protector. In the method a first and second sheet of plastic material, each sheet having a length, a width, and an edge are provided. The first sheet is superposed on the second sheet such that the edge of the first sheet is parallel to, but not flush with, the edge of the second sheet, so that a flange is formed in the second sheet.

  • Patent number: 5384915
Abstract: An outer garment to be worn by one or more people together, having an outer jacket with a pair of sleeves, and an inner jacket portion with one sleeve. The outer jacket and inner jacket are partially connected at the neck opening and partially connected at the waistband. The garment is convertible from an unexpanded configuration wearable by one person to an expanded configuration wearable by at least two people. In the unexpanded configuration, the one sleeve of the inner jacket portion is inserted by the wearer into one of the sleeves of the outer jacket. To change to the expanded configuration, a securing feature on the back of the outer garment is released allowing additional folded material to be unfolded into an expanded back portion. In addition, in another embodiment, when an inner panel is attached to the back portion of the outer jacket, two people can both be separately enveloped in their own garment. The expandable feature allows for ease of movement by the people wearing the garment.
