Abstract: An extensible reach load lifting mechanism for a truck or similar vehicle in which a first boom assembly is mounted pivotably from the rear portion of the vehicle and extends lengthwise thereof having a hydraulic cylinder actuator for raising and lowering the boom about the pivot connection, the boom also forming a trackway. A trolley assembly is mounted in the trackway of the boom and a drive mechanism actuates selectively the trolley longitudinally of the boom, a second boom assembly which extends lengthwise of the first boom being pivotably mounted from the trolley for raising and lowering movement about the trolley pivot by a second hydraulic cylinder actuator, and for actuation lengthwise of the first boom on the trolley assembly at any position of elevation of the first boom.
Abstract: A lift truck in which the engine exhaust conduit extends upwardly along one side of the overhead safety guard and which is connected to a muffler extending transversely of the upper rear portion of the overhead guard and located in nested relation thereto.
Abstract: A single multi-function operator hand control for stand-up lift trucks located and designed for improved operator comfort and convenience and to reduce operator fatigue in any driving position. The hand control is recessed in a compartment adjacent one side of the truck and below the upper body thereof. It is mounted pivotally from one end and extends longitudinally towards the operator; it includes a rotatable control member at the opposite end so that the operator's forearm when in controlling positions is normally in or adjacent to the vertical plane of the control handle and the hand palm is located generally in a vertical plane and faces the control member which rotates on an axis transverse of the truck.
Abstract: A protective overhead guard device for lift trucks includes a rigid rear leg construction connected to the rear ends of the side members of the overhead guard canopy for adjustment pivotally to a plurality of positions, said connections to the side members being fixed and rigid. The lower ends of the legs connect to adjustable brackets for different longitudinal adjusted positions of the counterweight.
