    Abstract: Recombinant baculoviruses were prepared which contain sequences expressing peptide hormones which cause lack of feeding in Helicoverpa zea (corn earworm) and related pestw. The peptides were isolated from H. zea and identified as helicokinins. When present in sufficient amounts in the insect, weight and water loss and the eventual death of the insect occurs.

    Abstract: Hybridoma cell lines have been produced which secrete monoclonal antibodies that bind hygromycin B and are effective to detect hygromycin B levels as low as about 0.7 ppm. These monoclonal antibodies may be used for the detection and quantitative determination of trace amounts of hygromycin B in samples, especially in animal tissue and feed material.
