Abstract: A packaged assortment of artificial fingernails including a package defining a storage chamber, a display compartment with a transparent wall portion, and a cavity having an inner end disposed adjacent to said display compartment, the cavity having a transparent wall section and being shaped and arranged to receive a finger end visible therethrough. Also included in the package are a plurality of artificial fingernails of various sizes retained within the storage chamber and an artificial fingernail of given size retained in the display compartment and having a fingernail end adjacent to the inner end of the cavity, the fingernail of given size having a fingernail surface visible through the transparent wall portion. The display compartment, cavity and artificial fingernail of given size facilitate selection of a package retaining fingernails of sizes appropriate for a particular user.

Abstract: A surgical drape including a flexible bottom sheet having a lower surface of given area for placement on a patient and an upper surface for facing away from the patient, the bottom sheet defining a bottom fenestration of given size for accommodating a surgical procedure. Also included is a flexible top sheet detachably secured to the upper surface of the bottom sheet and covering the bottom fenestration. The top sheet has bottom and top surfaces of predetermined area less than the given area and defines a top fenestration of predetermined size smaller than the given size and aligned with bottom fenestration. A securement mechanism is provided for securing the top sheet around a body appendage after detachment of the top sheet from the bottom sheet. The securement mechanism improves use flexibility of the surgical drape.
Abstract: A closed tube forming apparatus including a base having spaced apart first and second support members; an elongated first die having one end supported by the first support member and an opposite end supported by the second support member, the one end being detachable from the first support member so as to permit separating movement therebetween; and an elongated second die supported by the base and extending parallel to the first die. One of the first and second dies has a transverse V-shaped cross section forming a knife edge and the other die defines a longitudinally extending V-shaped groove conforming substantially to the V-shaped cross section.
Abstract: A steamer for a steamable hair curler includes thermally isolated cold and hot water reservoirs. Water in the hot water reservoir is heated by a PTC heater. The volumetric capacity of the hot water reservoir is very small. The PTC heater has an intrinsic cutoff temperature high enough to boil water in the hot water reservoir and low enough to prevent deterioration of any component parts of the steamer, even in the absence of water in the hot water reservoir. Due to the thermal isolation of the reservoirs, water in the cold water reservoir is not substantially heated during normal operation of the steamer.

Abstract: A portable electric window fan including a housing having side walls, a bottom wall for mounting on a sill of a window, a top wall for engaging a sash of the window, a front wall defining an air outlet, a rear wall defining an air inlet, and the walls together defining a closed chamber communicating with the inlet and outlet. Also included is a fan mount supported by the housing for rotation on a first axis; a drive shaft supported in the chamber on the fan mount and having a second axis transverse to the first axis; an electric drive motor coupled to the drive shaft and operable to produce rotation thereof; a fan blade fixed to the drive shaft for rotation therewith within the chamber; and an electrically powered drive mechanism coupled to the fan mount and operable to produce reciprocating rotation thereof on the first axis.

Abstract: A hockey puck shooting range including a planar surface for accommodating sliding movement of hockey pucks; a collection system disposed at a peripheral edge portion of the planar surface and arranged to collect hockey pucks propelled off the planar surface at the peripheral edge portion; and an ejection mechanism for sequentially ejecting hockey pucks onto the planar surface. Also included is a conveyor system for conveying to the ejection mechanism hockey pucks collected by the collection system. The range significantly enhances the effectiveness of puck shooting practice. The range includes a hockey net disposed along the peripheral edge portion and the collection system collects hockey pucks received by the hockey net.
Abstract: A slide bearing support having one member movable in a given direction relative to another member and including a pair of parallel slide bearing assemblies disposed between the members. Each of the assemblies includes a raceway defining guide surfaces along a travel path in the given direction; and a plurality of slide bearing members retained by the raceway and supporting the one member on the another member, the bearing members being shaped and arranged for sliding movement on the guide surfaces.
Abstract: A portable window fan including a housing having a bottom wall for mounting on a sill of a window with an open sash, a top wall for engaging the open sash, a rear wall defining a plurality of inlet openings, and a front wall defining three substantially aligned discharge openings spaced apart in a given direction substantially parallel to the top wall. Also included are three fan blades mounted within the housing, each fan blade arranged to produce air flow through a different one of the discharge openings; an electrical drive coupled to the fan blades and operative to induce rotation thereof; and a grill mechanism covering the discharge openings.

Abstract: A cab is supported on a vehicle frame by hydraulic actuators, each provided with a stroke displacement sensor, and a suspension system for the frame includes a plurality of height sensors. The hydraulic actuators are driven by a control system to maintain a stable orientation of the cab in response to signals derived from the displacement and height sensors and representing vertical, longitudinal, lateral, yaw rolling and pitching vibrations of the cab.
