Abstract: Micro-components having at least one individual layer are produced according to the method, which have functional layers 3 on the walls of inner structures, for example of flow channels. The micro-components are intended to be suitable for a large number of different applications in chemical reaction technology, for heat exchanging, for mixing substances or for evaporating liquids. In particular, the micro-components are intended to have no problems in respect of leaks in the flow channels. The method has the following method steps: A. producing the at least one individual layer by: a. producing a first metal layer or a metal foil 1; b. forming the inner structures in and/or on the first metal layer or metal foil 1 by suitable etching methods and/or metal deposition methods; and c. forming the functional layers 3 solely on the walls of the inner structures and thereafter B.

Abstract: The invention is to provide a chainless transmission mechanism comprising a first shaft connected to a pedal of the bicycle; a first bevel gear connected to the first shaft; a second shaft perpendicular to the first shaft, two ends of which are connected to a second bevel gear and a third bevel gear, respectively, the second bevel gear being matched with the first bevel gear to drive the second shaft; a fourth bevel gear mounted on an axle of a rear-wheel hub of the bicycle to engage with the third bevel gear; a ratchet clutch connected between the rear-wheel hub and the axle; and a connection member connected between the fourth bevel gear and the rear-wheel hub. A bicycle with the chainless transmission mechanism of the invention is of a simple manufacturing process and a lower cost.
Abstract: A pump primer for a pump on a fire truck uses a high-speed compressed air in a venturi in a compressed air chamber to generate a vacuum in a vacuum chamber to prime a pump, with an integral valve which separates the pump from the priming ejectors (venturis), the valve being opened by the compressed air when the primer is activated, the valve being closed by a spring return when the compressed air supply is removed, where water drawn in through the primer is freely drained by gravity to prevent freezing in cold weather.

Abstract: A method of passivating the interior surface of a gas storage vessel to protect the surface against corrosion. The interior surface of the vessel is first dehydrated and then evacuated. A silicon hydride gas is introduced into the vessel. The vessel and silicon hydride gas contained therein are heated and pressurized to decompose the gase. A layer of silicon is deposited on the interior surface of the vessel. The duration of the silicon depositing step is controlled to prevent the formation of silicon dust in the vessel. The vessel is then purged with an inert gas to remove the silicon hydride gas. The vessel is cycled through the silicon depositing step until the entire interior surface of the vessel is covered with a layer of silicon. The vessel is then evacuated and cooled to room temperature.

Abstract: A method of heating low emissivity glass sheet for subsequent processing. The glass sheet is loaded onto a longitudinally extending conveyor and oriented such that the lengthwise edge of the sheet is parallel to the length of the conveyor and the direction of conveyance of the glass sheet. The sheet is conveyed into a heating chamber. The glass sheet is then convectively heated in a specified sequence along the entire length of the glass sheet at selected areas measured along the width by creating a downward flow of heated air proximate the selected areas.
