  • Patent number: 6405932
Abstract: A retrofit automatic temperature controlling apparatus and kit is attached to a prior art steam-cold water mixing valve assembly to produce mixed cold water and steam as hot water at a controlled temperature. An adjustment screw is added to the prior art valve assembly to limit the displacement of a steam poppet valve which is opened by a retrofitted piston. Cold water is redirected to a retrofit temperature control assembly having a mixing chamber for receiving the cold water. A water and steam receiving conduit terminates in the mixing chamber and has fluid isolated sections for receiving steam and cold water with a sleeve valve member for selectively coupling the steam and cold water sections to the mixing chamber. The sleeve valve member is operated by a temperature sensing device in the outlet hot water chamber. A disc member separates the mixing chamber and outlet hot water chamber with small passages which promote mixing.

  • Patent number: 6267318
Abstract: A plurality of core mounting ring members are rotationally slidably mounted on a drive shaft which has a central axial bore for receiving settable pressurized air. The ring members have an annular array of bores with core gripping buttons resiliently urged radially outwardly to grip a core receiving a winding strip thereabout. A central groove on an inner surface of each of the ring member is fluid coupled to the gripping button bores and to the drive shaft central bore for urging the buttons outwardly with pressurized air. The button bores are fluid coupled to two annular grooves on each side of the central ring member groove. A chlorinated quad O-ring is in each of the two annular grooves.

  • Patent number: 5200503
Abstract: A composition comprising an ethylene/chlorotrifluoroethylene copolymer and an effective stabilizing amount of a phenolic complex of the formula: ##STR1## wherein at least one of R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, and R.sub.5 is --OH, and wherein the remaining R.sub.1 through R.sub.5 is hydrogen or an aliphatic hydrocarbon, and wherein each of R.sub.1 through R.sub.5 may be the same or different provided that at least one of R.sub.1 through R.sub.5 is --OH, and each of R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 is an alkylene group having from 1 to about 10 carbon atoms, and each of R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 may be the same or different. The composition may further include a phosphite, a thioester or sulfide compound, and/or an inorganic filler such as tricalcium aluminate hexahydrate. Such compositions show improved melt stability at high temperatures and are useful as wire and cable coatings, films, and pipes.

  • Patent number: 4938787
Abstract: Described as a filter device for filtering particles out of a gaseous fluid, having a substrate (22) and a filter layer provided on the substrate (22). The filter layer is a filter liquid (36) which wets the substrate (22). At least one such filter device (20) is arranged in a housing (12) to provide a filter apparatus (10). The housing (12) has an inlet opening (14) and an outlet opening (16) for the fluid to be filtered. In order for the gas-pervious substrate (22) of the at least one filter device (20) of the filter apparatus (10) to be well wetted with the filter liquid (36), provided in the housing (12) is a watering means (44) which is in fluid communication with the filter devices (20) and which is also in fluid communication with a collecting chamber (38) for the filter liquid (36). A pump (47) serves for circulating the filter liquid (36) between the collecting chamber (38) and the watering means (44) (FIG. 1).
