Abstract: This invention relates to terpolymers of chlorotrifluoroethylene, ethylene and perfluoroalkoxyperfluoroalkyl ethylene which have improved resistance to thermal stress cracking and improved high temperature properties.

Abstract: The surface of a molten polymer is treated with a flame as the polymer is extruded; the polymer is co-calendered with a substrate as a fibrous web immediately downstream from the extruder and the flame. Articles so treated exhibit superior bond strengths. In one embodiment, both the polymer and the web are treated with a flame prior to the step of co-calendering.

Abstract: A method comprising the step of melt processing stabilized composition comprising a copolymer comprising from 70 to 95, and preferably 75 to 90 percent by weight of vinyl chloride and from 5 to 30 and preferably 10 to 25 percent by weight of chlorotrifuloroethylene and an effective amount of a stabilizer. The step of melt processing includes extruder processing or roll mill processing. A preferred melt processing step is melt coating the copolymer onto a substrate such as a wire. The present invention includes a substrate such as a wire melt coated with the above-described stabilized copolymer.
Abstract: The present invention is a multilayered coextruded film and process of coextruding. The coextruded film comprises at least one thermoplastic fluoropolymer layer and at least one thermoplastic polymeric layer adjacent to the thermoplastic fluoropolymer layer. There is preferably a coextruded adhesive layer between each thermoplastic fluoropolymer layer and each thermoplastic polymeric layer. The coextruded film can be oriented in at least one direction and/or embossed without delamination, fibrillating, or splitting.

Abstract: There is disclosed an apparatus for mounting elements on a roof, the elements having a mounting bracket, and the roof being formed by a plurality of beam supports wherein are mounted a plurality of spaced transverse roof supports having a fixably attached roof convering thereon, the roof covering having a plurality of bores therethrough, said apparatus comprising a sleeve member positioned on said roof covering and formed by a plate member having an opening therethrough and a tubular collar member affixed to the plate member in axial alignment with the opening in the plate member thereby forming a duct. The duct is positioned in axial alignment with the bore in the roof covering.
