  • Patent number: 5457914
Abstract: The invention is characterized by at least one bracket 20 which is rotatably attached to a child's safety gate 10. The bracket defines a pedestal anchor 30 which is fixed to the gate, a rotatable clamp 60 being rivet-spring connected thereto, whereby the clip having pads 68 thereon may be pressed against door jamb or passageway walls to secure the gate against displacement, irrespective of shaking forces which may be applied to the gate. The bracket 60 is compressibly mounted relative to the anchor 30 such that the pads thereof clamp the gate against a fixed surface such as wall or doorjamb, supplementing the gate buffers 12, whereby displacement of the gate is rendered impossible.

  • Patent number: 4729076
Abstract: A heat sink, made of a highly heat-conductive material is placed on the back of a circuit board upon the front of which many LEDs are arrayed as the signal light source. The heat sink, generally formed as an aggregate of a number of fins, need not necessarily be fitted in one piece with the back face of the board but may be indirectly connected to the back face of the board with a heat absorber being placed between the heat sink and the back face of the board.

  • Patent number: 4694285
Abstract: The combination is described of an electrical smoke, heat detector and electrical light in a single unit which is removably attachable to an electrical fixture. The combination includes a closed housing containing smoke heat sensing alarms. Also recessed flush within the housing is a light bulb socket for reception of a light bulb into a face of the housing. Protruding from an opposite face of the housing is an electrical connector, capable of screw-in attachment to a standard electrical outlet fixture. A switching device to turn the light on or off, forms of which include: push button, toggle switch, or pull chain, is installed within the closed housing such that the switch is operable externally of the housing. A second switching device, also operable externally of the housing activates and de-activates a self-contained battery power source to operate the smoke and heat sensor functions of the combination.

  • Patent number: 4593790
Abstract: A multi-purpose convertible ladder stabilizer, particularly adapted to stabilize the upper free end of ladders such as the extension type during utility in the construction, maintenance, repair, painting of commercial and domestic buildings. The stabilizer is characterized by its portability and function convertibility wherein it may be removably set for disposition as an outside corner clutch, an inside corner engager, a building overhang ladder attachment, window spanner and the like. A coactive relationship is provided between elements wherein interconnected articulable extensions and a ladder during use, irrespective of the geometric vertical configuration of that elevated part of a building which may be considered the workplace.
