  • Patent number: 7229062
Abstract: Presented is an apparatus for stabilizing the form boards or members that define a cavity to receive wet concrete. The apparatus includes metal stakes having two sets of through-bores. The through-bores of one set are perpendicular to the through-bores of the other set and are spaced intermediately thereof. The stakes are driven into the ground in parallel pairs on opposite sides of the form boards. Nails are driven through one set of through-bores to attach the form boards to the stakes. A retention nail is slidably supported in a bore of the other set of bores so that it lies parallel to the form boards and above the top edges of the form boards. An elongated retention plate extends transversely above the form boards and opposite ends are detachably engaged to the nails that lie parallel to the form boards so as to prevent the form boards from displacing the stakes outwardly by the force exerted by the wet concrete.

  • Patent number: 6945577
Abstract: The present invention is a uniquely designed gutter cleaning tool with no moving parts. Designed to move debris from elevated rain gutters by pulling it to an operator stationed on a ladder, to be scooped out and placed into a container. The preferred configuration conforms to the bottom of both K-style and half round gutters and includes a neck with an acme screw throat, protruding from a rectangular, two edged blade, positioned from the neck at an oblique angle. The head, when attached to an extension handle has a cleaning range of fourteen feet left and fourteen feet right for a total of twenty-eight feet from a set station.

  • Patent number: 6783175
Abstract: Presented is a deployable and contractible cushion structure for detachable attachment about the waist of a user, formed from a unitary flat piece of preferably woven fabric that is folded and sewn to provide in its completed form three separate pockets. In a first or primary pocket is contained a relatively thick elastically resilient cushion pad formed from open or closed cell polyurethane or other suitable synthetic resinous material. A second pocket, substantially in the same plane as the primary pocket and opening in the direction of the open end of the primary pocket, is provided to contain the elastically resilient cushion pad when it and the primary pocket in which it is contained are rolled into a generally cylindrical roll to fit within the second pocket. A flap is provided to retain the rolled elastically resilient cushion pad in contracted form when not in use.

  • Patent number: 6681661
Abstract: Presented is a detachable and adjustable cover member for the sound hole of a string instrument such as a guitar. The cover member provides a base member to which are attached elastically resilient keeper blocks that detachably engage the periphery of the sound hole. The base member is apertured to admit sound into the hollow body of the string instrument and to enable feedback of such sound when the apertures are open to the atmosphere. An adjustable sound and feedback control dial is a detachably mounted on the top surface of the base member and is provided with apertures corresponding in size and configuration with the apertures in the base member. The control dial may be selectively digitally adjusted to place the apertures in the dial in registry with the apertures in the base member to enable the ingress and egress of sound therethrough or adjusted to partially or totally occlude the passage of sound through the sound hole.

  • Patent number: 6641013
Abstract: Presented is a tool storage system for pick-up trucks that includes releasably interconnected independent units that are separately manufactured and which are assembled into a composite assembly of interconnected units that fit snugly yet removably in the cargo bed of a pick-up truck. The tool storage system incorporates elongated left and right side storage boxes that straddle the rear wheel compartments that protrude into the truck bed. These elongated lidded storage boxes are attached to associated side walls of the truck bed so that the top surface of the lids lie flush with the top edges of the truck side walls. A central array of separate and independent storage boxes arranged in tandem from the front wall of the truck bed to the tailgate are mounted within the cargo compartment between the elongated left and right side storage boxes.

  • Patent number: 6638422
Abstract: A liquid filtering apparatus which incorporates a filter bed medium having a specific gravity lower than that of the process liquid being filtered. Process liquid is pumped through one or more filter chambers containing the filter bed medium. A discharge line at the top of the housing directs the filtered liquid either back into a process liquid tank or stream, or into a clean liquid storage tank. A small storage tank provides a volume of filtered liquid for use in backwashing the filter bed medium. The particle size and nature of the filter bed medium are determined by the identity and specific gravity of the process liquid to be filtered so that the filter bed is buoyant on the process liquid. As the process liquid is pumped into the filter chamber, the composite filter bed floats to the top of the chamber where it stops rising. The process liquid then passes through the filter bed and the particulates are strained from the liquid by surface filtration and depth filtration.

  • Patent number: 6571789
Abstract: Presented is an improved insulation device which, in multiple numbers, forms a swimming pool cover, or cover for other types of liquid containers. A complete cover is formed of multiple independent floatation insulation devices that collectively cover the entire surface of the water or liquid on which they float, yet enable dispersion thereof as a safety feature from below the surface of the water or liquid by a person in the water so that the person may extend his or her head through the cover to breath air. Structurally, the insulation device is hexagonal so as to cooperatively abut adjacent insulation devices to form a complete cover. The insulation device is injection molded-from plastic in two mirror image half-shells each of which is formed with a circular recess centrally disposed within the hexagonal outer periphery.
