  • Patent number: 5145200
Abstract: Presented is a universal integral ski control system including a base member on which is mounted a drag control probe assembly including probes that are selectively displaceable between a retracted position and an extended position in which the control probes extend past the running surface of the ski so as to project into the snow on opposite sides of the ski when the skis are in use. The probe assembly is manipulable by the skier for selectively effecting displacement of the drag control probes into either a retracted position or extended position. The base is universally applicable in that it may be integrally incorporated into a ski boot and thus be available for use when the ski boots are donned and the skier steps into the ski bindings, or it may be incorporated integrally into the toe piece assembly of the bindings, or under the toe piece, or incorporated integrally into the ski itself.

  • Patent number: 5133306
Abstract: Presented is an internal combustion engine that utilizes horizontally opposed pistons operating in direct opposition to one another in axially aligned open ended cylinders suspended below a base plate and arranged generally symmetrically on opposite sides of a vertical plane coincident with the rotational axis of a longitudinally extending main power crankshaft also suspended for rotation below the base plate. A pair of auxiliary crankshafts are provided spaced on opposite sides of the vertical plane and having rotational axes that lie in a common plane below and parallel with the plane of the base plate and coincident with the longitudinal axis of the cylinders. A cam shaft is provided to be driven by at least one of the auxiliary crankshafts in timed sequence with linear displacement of the pistons and operation of poppet-type intake and exhaust valves actuated by the cam shaft to admit a fuel mixture into the combustion chamber defined by the juxtaposed heads of the pistons.

  • Patent number: 5123128
Abstract: A monolithic bathtub structure incorporates vertical support columns that in one aspect are integral with the bathtub and which can be secured directly to the stud framing of the cubicle in which the bathtub is installed. The bathtub structure includes a suspension beam incorporating a locking mechanism to prevent inadvertent release of the access panels from the assembly, yet the locking mechanism may be adjusted to permit removal of the access panels. In other aspects of the invention, the suspension beam, including the panel locking mechanism, and the support columns may be independently manufactured as component parts to be assembled by the purchaser to form a bathtub enclosure. The monolithic bathtub structure is capable of formation from an appropriate synthetic resinous material, as are the support columns.

  • Patent number: 5100338
Abstract: A contact for circuit board socket includes a planar conductor having an elongated base with oppositely spaced ends. A fulcrum leg is formed on one end of the base and has a cut-out space extending from outermost edge to the inside middle portion of the base so as to make the fulcrum leg more flexible. A contact leg is formed on the other end of the base and has a cut-out space extending lengthwise thereof between first and second parallel and spaced apart planar beam sections. The end of the base sections remote from the base are joined and the cut-out space extends to the middle portion of the base but does not communicate with that of the fulcrum leg. The conductor furthermore provides a stop means at the side of the contact leg, which cooperates with a similar stop means at the outer portion of the fulcrum leg to form a pair of stop means.

  • Patent number: 5066259
Abstract: A doll structure is provided which incorporates a mass of material in selected parts of the doll body to impart to the selected part of the doll a weight factor approximately equivalent to the weight factor of the corresponding part in a human child of approximately the same size. Mats of unoriented filaments are arranged in relation to the weight producing mass or masses to provide bulk and girth to the parts, while selected layers of a soft and pliant elastically compressible material are applied to provide a compressibility to the doll parts substantially equivalent to the compressibility of the corresponding part of a human child. The doll body or its independent parts is covered with a layer of material that simulates the "feel" of human tissue.

  • Patent number: 5053794
Abstract: Presented is a universal adapter ring for use in interconnecting a camera of the single lens reflex type to an optical device in a manner that maintains the alignment of the optical axes of the camera and optical device and secures the two together. Sets of coaxially arranged threads are formed on the spaced faces of the ring, and a resiliently deformable spring-steel band is coaxially arranged within the ring in association with adjustable screws that may be digitally manipulated to deform the spring-steel band into tight engagement with the cylindrical eyepiece of an optical device. A centrally apertured protective shield plate is also provided extending diametrically across the adapter ring to form an abutment against which the optical device may abut surrounding the aperture to prevent the optical device from impinging on the lens of the camera, or dropping into the camera when the lens is removed and for preventing stray light from entering the camera.

  • Patent number: 5052689
Abstract: Presented is a golf ball and golf tee support structure that also limits the depth to which a tee may be inserted into the ground, thereby adjusting the elevation of the tee above the ground and providing a platform for the golf ball that is the proper elevation to meet the needs of the particular golfer. The structure includes a tubular support that accepts either a tee, or a ball without use of a tee, and which is provided with annular grooves around its outer periphery to facilitate cutting the tubular member to whatever height is best suited to the golfer. A flat ground engaging plate integral with one end of the tubular member restricts the depth to which a tee may be plunged into the ground. In a second aspect of the invention, sharpened prongs are provided on the underside of the flat plate that are adapted to be inserted into the ground when the device is set to aid in lateral stabilization of the device.
