  • Patent number: 5334068
Abstract: A remote control model aircraft airfoil or wing of novel design and a related method for the construction of the airfoil or wing are disclosed in which the airfoil or wing is made of a single sheet board in a manner ensuring that the airfoil or wing is both strong and durable. A plurality of now parallel lines are scored on the interior of the sheet of material with the material being folded on the scored lines to form the airfoil or wing. In the preferred embodiment, the resulting apparatus forms a flying wing which may be used as a glider. In an alternate embodiment, a straight wing with or without polyhedral surfaces may be crafted in much the same manner.

  • Patent number: 5331761
Abstract: The combination fishing tackle box and pole holder includes a box having an interior storage space. The lid is connected to at least one fishing pole holder which is in the form of a pipe which extends up from the lid top surface at an angle. The pipe has its lower end in the form of a socket which releasably retains the butt end of a fishing pole. The upper portion of the pipe extends up around the pole and has a cutaway portion on the rear side, so that the pole body can be tilted backwardly out of the cutaway portion while retaining the pole butt in the socket, in order to set a hook in a fish caught on the fishing pole line. The box can have one or more carrying handles and the holder can be hinged to the lid top and movable between the raised operative position and a down storage position. The lid can be configured to provide a storage recess for the holder when in the down position.

  • Patent number: 5316362
Abstract: The vehicle sun visor position retainer is preferably a unitary, flexible, resilient, generally flat piece of plastic, wood, metal, rubber, ceramic or cermet having first and second horizontally extending members. The second member extends laterally of the first member adjacent one end of the first member. The two members are integrally connected together by a step portion which holds the second member below but generally parallel to the first member. The first member contains a generally central vertical hole therethrough adapted to receive the vertical rod portion of a vehicle sun visor bracket. The first member also defines a slot from the periphery of the first member to the hole. Preferably, the slot has outwardly diverging sides. Also preferably, a pair of detents narrow the slot adjacent the hole to hold the first member in place around the rod. Cut-away portions on opposite sides of the detents may increase the effective flexibility.

  • Patent number: 5314384
Abstract: The child's bowling aid device resembles a portable bowling ball holding rack with attached bowling ball launching ramp and is adapted to permit a child to easily hold the bowling ball on the rack and then ease it forward off the rack through the launching ramp, after aiming the ramp, in order to roll it onto a bowling lane and knock down bowling pins. The device includes first and second spaced parallel vertical side plates, each with a flat bottom, elevated rear end, a dish-shaped bowling ball-retaining top portion and a front top portion which slopes down and forwardly to serve as a launching ramp. Spaced rear and front transverse vertical crossplates interconnect the side plates. The rear transverse plate is taller than the front transverse plate. Preferably, all plates are flat and releasably connectable and form a kit capable of being transported in disassembled condition in a bag or the like and then being assembled at a bowling alley for use.

  • Patent number: 5257841
Abstract: The lock strike device is used with closable openings and is electrically connectable to an electrical monitoring circuit so that the presence or absence of a latch or deadbolt in the device can be automatically detected. The device includes a strike box having spaced sidewalls and a closed rear end. The first sidewall and adjacent portion of the rear end define an elongated cutaway portion through which an elongated blade trigger is spring biased into the strike space. The trigger is hinged at its front end to a box connected to the front of the sidewall. The rear end of the trigger is a head which urges a spring loaded lever arm of an electrical switch mounted on the exterior of the housing rear end into an open circuit position. A movable tab extends transversely into the space from the trigger. The tab senses the presence of a latch to provide a signal to an indicator.

  • Patent number: 5249306
Abstract: The improved self-defense practice assembly includes a protective padded helmet with face mask and rear and lateral depending walls adapted to transmit head shocks downwardly to the shoulder area of a wearer of the helmet. The assembly also includes a pair of shoulder pads upon which the shock-transmitting wall rests. The assembly also includes a hard shell padded groin and spine protector, with a testicle well, integral rear lateral buttock-covering wings and an integral upwardly extending spine plate. The components meet and overlap so as to fully protect the head and body of the wearer when playing the roll of a mugging assailant in a self-defense course. The helmet is a shell padded inside and out and webbed at the upper inside. The shoulder pads may include a padded horse collar on which the depending helmet wall rests. • Patent number: 5232424
Abstract: The back and stomach support device is utilizable by weightlifters, stevedors, etc., and includes an elongated flexible back strap with a resilient, flexible back cushion attached to the inner surface thereof. The back strap extends forwardly at the sides of the device and ends in opposed front loops through which the opposite ends of a front belt extend. To the inner surface of the front belt is connected a resilient, flexible stomach cushion. The front belt can be cinched tight by means of its opposite ends and be releasably held in place for example by hook-bearing strips and hook-receiving strips on the belt. The device encircles the waist and effectively supports both back and stomach to prevent muscle strain. The strap and belt are shorter in height than the cushions so that no pinching of the skin occurs during tightening. The opposite ends of the cushions may be tapered down for a similar reason and the cushions are short enough not to intercept each other.

  • Patent number: 5213509
Abstract: The game for lovers includes two open-topped containers, with or without closeable top lids and central storage spaces, and a number of game pieces of sufficiently small size so that a number of the pieces can fit into each space. The total number of pieces in the game is more than enough to fill one of the spaces, but insufficient to fill both spaces. The game pieces are stored in the spaces throughout the game. The game may also include a rules guide. The game pieces can all be of the same or different size, shape and appearance, preferably the latter. Most preferably, they are in the form of different simulated jewels of various sizes, shapes and appearances. In one embodiment, the rules guide, containers and/or pieces bear the legend "lovers". The game is played by initially distributing an equal number of game pieces to each player for storage in the container spaces. Whenever a lover performs a loving act, he or she gives the other lover a game piece which is stored in the recipient's container space.

  • Patent number: 5207423
Abstract: The improved tennis racket string straightener is a one-piece unitary pocket comb, preferably of molded plastic, with an elongated body and spaced integral teeth depending therefrom along the length thereof. The body has curved ends to prevent pocket snagging and includes a vertical lower plate from which the teeth depend, and a top horizontal flange acting as a hand grip. The plate is integral with the flange and connected thereto along the longitudinal center-line thereof. The teeth in one embodiment are all the same size and spacing. In another embodiment the teeth are of generally similar shape and size but the distance between adjacent teeth gradually increases the farther the teeth are away from the mid-point along the length of the comb. The teeth are generally triangular in front, rear and side elevation, thus generally wedge-shaped with apices pointing down, and the spaces defined thereby are generally triangular with their apices up. All apices are slightly rounded to prevent string damage.

  • Patent number: 5195499
Abstract: A device for launching a plastic, saucer-shaped game disc is disclosed which spins such a saucer-shaped game disc up to a high rotational rate, and then discharges the rotating saucer-shaped game disc from the apparatus in a generally upward direction. The device uses a drive wheel and a spring-biased idler wheel to retain the inner rim of a saucer-shaped game disc thereon, whereby the saucer-shaped game disc may be accelerated to a desired rotational speed. The device then uses a foot pedal-actuated rod bearing on the bottom of the center of the saucer-shaped game disc to propel it upwardly, from which launching the disc may be used to perform various free-style maneuvers.
