Abstract: Four original size and paper size combinations are displayed together with arrow indicators on a display panel, in order of use frequency. Each size is displayed by text and pattern and enlargement or reduction with the necessity of rotation also indicated. By operating scroll keys, the display of the arrows in the arrow indicators moves from one to another while the display of four possible original size and paper size combinations among all the possible combinations is shown in a scrolling manner. The operator operates the scroll keys to scroll the four combinations displayed within the display panel and selects the arrow indicator indicating the arrow that corresponds to the desired combination to be set up for the copying operation.

Abstract: An optical recording medium is an optical disk formed by bonding a substrate to a light transparent cover layer smaller in thickness than the substrate, and the optical disk includes one or more recording layer between the substrate and the light transparent cover layer. The light transparent cover layer is smaller in diameter than the substrate. Further, it is desirable that an outer edge of the substrate be higher than a between-edge part of the substrate. With this arrangement, a bonding surface of the substrate and the light transparent cover layer is not exposed out of an outer curved surface. Accordingly, it is possible to protect the bonding surface between the outer edge and the inner edge so as to increase strength against exfoliation of the light transparent cover layer.
Abstract: When a user places his finger on a fingerprint detecting section, in the fingerprint detecting section, a shadow made by the finger placed on the fingerprint detecting section is detected by a sensor portion, and then, when it is judged that a shape of the detected shadow coincides with a distribution of the shadow made by the user's finger, and thereby, a power is turned on. Thereafter, a fingerprint is detected from the finger placed on the fingerprint detecting section, and then, the detected fingerprint is collated with a previously stored fingerprint data so as to identify the user. Further, it is possible to use various data such as schedule data corresponding to the identified user. Therefore, this dispenses an operation for turning on the power and an instruction for starting fingerprint collation.
Abstract: An olefin-based thermoplastic elastomer comprises a propylene-based resin (A) and an olefin-based copolymer rubber (B), and has a ratio (N1/SS) of first normal stress difference (N1) to shear stress (SS) of 0.6:1 to 1.4:1 said first normal stress difference (N1) and shear stress (SS) being determined by subjecting said elastomer to step shear test at a temperature of 200° C. and a shear rate of 25.1 sec−1. Such olefin-based thermoplastic elastomer shows excellent moldability, transferability of embossed patterns and mechanical strength.
