  • Patent number: 6828168
Abstract: A tunable Fabry-Perot vertical cavity photonic device and a method of its fabrication are presented. The device comprises top and bottom semiconductor DBR stacks and a tunable air-gap cavity therebetween. The air-gap cavity is formed within a recess in a spacer above the bottom DBR stack. The top DBR stack is carried by a supporting structure in a region thereof located above a central region of the recess, while a region of the supporting structure above the recess and outside the DBR stack presents a membrane deflectable by the application of a tuning voltage to the device contacts.

  • Patent number: 6814129
Abstract: The invention concerns a powered rolling shutter whereof the stator of the motor is connected to a fixed support via elastic means (R1, R2) for stopping the shutter in high and low abutment when the resisting torque exceeds a selected value, consisting of two springs (R1, R2) compressed by the stator rotation. The travel distance (12) before on of the springs (R2) is compressed is greater than the travel distance (11) before the other spring (R1) is compressed. The compression is ensured by a mobile element (12) also actuating a switch (18). The travels (c1, c2) required for activating the switch can be inverted. The motor can be mounted on the left or on the right with a differentiated resisting torque for stopping in high abutment and low abutment.

  • Patent number: 6795284
Abstract: The invention concerns a device for stopping the motor when the load on the motor exceeds a predetermined value. It comprises means (D1, DZ, R1, R2) transforming the voltage variation at the phase-shifting capacitor terminals corresponding to a specific torque variation into a selected voltage variation whatever the maximum torque developed, means comparing (T1) the transformed voltage (UB) with a reference voltage and means for stopping the motor when the transformed voltage is less than the reference voltage.

  • Patent number: 6786501
Abstract: Device for adjusting the relative position between a first part, for example a ski binding heel-piece, equipped with a toothed strip (8) and a second part, for example a slide (2), equipped with two opposed sets of teeth (16, 17) collaborating with the sets of teeth (10, 11) of the strip. The sets of teeth of one of the parts are offset by a half-tooth and the teeth of the sets of teeth are truncated. The sets of teeth of the two parts come into mesh alternately on one side and the other, making it possible to have a pitch for adjustment equal to a half-tooth rather than a full tooth. The fineness of the adjustment is thus improved.

  • Patent number: 6783146
Abstract: The connecting device consists of a circular disk (7) fixed to the snowboard and fitting into a circular ring (8) holding the binding (1) on the board. The interior circular contour (11) of the ring into which the disk fits is eccentric relative to the exterior contour of the ring. The mechanical continuity provided by the ring guarantees that the binding will be held in position without high pressure needing to be exerted on this ring.

  • Patent number: 6779284
Abstract: The boot for gliding sports, particularly for skiing, comprises a rigid shell (2) for partially surrounding a user's foot, a collar (3) articulated on the shell (2), and an inner boot, said shell (2) including an open part that makes it easier to put the boot on and to take it off. The boot also comprises at least one flexible element (6) covering said open part so as to close the boot, and a semirigid element (7, 8) superposed over said flexible element (6), and means (9) for fixing said elements on the rigid shell (2).

  • Patent number: 6767026
Abstract: Automatic snowboard binding holding the boot via its sides and having an automatic locking mechanism (11, 14), retention mechanism (6), and a boot-release lever (16) whose operation results in unlocking of the retention mechanism. The boot-release lever is kinematically independent of the locking mechanism (11, 14) in such a manner that it remains stationary when the boot is clipped into the binding.

  • Patent number: 6766741
Abstract: An inking plate for a rotary printing machine mounting on a cylinder is provided. The inking plate is formed of at least a base plate (11) and a PVC composition material of at least one layer (15; 27) deposited on said base plate (11) over a majority of the surface of the base plate (11). The surface of the deposited material is designed to be cut so as to define relief surfaces (16) having limits corresponding to the outlines of surfaces to be inked. The cutting of the deposited material occurs when the base plate (11) is held in a cylindrical form so as to permit mounting on the cylinder without substantial deformation, from an as-cut state, of the base plate (11) or the deposited material.

  • Patent number: 6761110
Abstract: A method by which stacks of printed sheets can be formed and, at the same time, the risk of soiling of the stacked sheets can be reduced to the maximum extent. To this end a printing machine is proposed, in particular a sheet-fed printing machine, into which unprinted and intermediate sheets are alternatively feed, wherein the printing is registered such that the printing occurs only on the unprinted sheets and not on the intermediate sheets. In this way, the intermediate sheets prevent damage to the print on the printed sheets.

  • Patent number: 6750570
Abstract: A flux-switching linear motor with at least two phases P1, P2, P3 has a moving rig, two permanent magnets 9, 10 and a switching mechanism. The moving rig 1 has at least two field coils 7. Each field coil 7 surrounds a magnetic armature 8 defining moving magnetic poles. The two permanent magnets 9, 10 are magnetized in opposite directions, transverse to the axis of a guidance stator tube 1. The stator tube 1 has magnetic poles 2 disposed along at least one of its walls so as to be successively facing the moving magnetic poles during the travel of the moving rig. The switching mechanism switches the direction of the current in the coils. The permanent magnets 9, 10 are disposed outside the coils and magnetized along an axis parallel to the axis of the coil. The stator magnetic poles include pieces 2 made of magnetic material fixed in a guidance tube made of amagnetic material.
