  • Patent number: 5237711
Abstract: An improved toilet flush valve for variable volume toilet flushing systems. The present improvement uses a float adjustable attached to a flapper valve by a rigid stem to vary the flush volume. The stem and flapper valve eliminate the need for a valve item guide to maintain the valve stem vertical as the stem is movably retained through an aperture in the flapper valve. Several embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5230516
Abstract: The invention is a two-player board game in which the object is to occupy four adjacent spaces in a row. The gameboard is a configuration of four concentric circles divided by four lines to create 32 game spaces. The game is won by getting four adjacent spaces occupied in a row. Adjacent spaces being those in the same concentric circle; or by getting four spaces radiating out from the center of the circle in the same quadrant; or by having four spaces spaces in a spiral configuration (otherwise known as a diagonal configuration) from center circle to outermost circle.

  • Patent number: 5226575
Abstract: The invention comprises a pneumatic gun for applying mortar in small scale applications, especially for one man operations around the home. The gun may also be used for mason contractor use. The gun uses an air supply fed by a thumb activated air nozzle that supplies air pressure to the top of a column of mortar inside a small dome shaped reservoir. A flex-type pressure release hose between the thumb trigger and the reservoir allows the pressure to be released to stop the flow of mortar upon flexing the hose.

  • Patent number: 5221070
Abstract: The invention relates to an adjustable support arm and assembly at the side of a chair, capable of holding a book in position for reading. The apparatus uses a free standing cabinet at the side of the chair as a support structure for the rest of the system. A book holding assembly is in connection with an upright shaft having annular grooves that rotates and moves vertically within the central channel of a support block that is attached to the framework. A spring biased latch plate secures the shaft at a vertical position by engaging with one of the annular grooves of the shaft. The support block moves horizontally along a rail connected to the framework. Rotational and pivoting movements are also possible to allow a wide variety of book positions.

  • Patent number: 5203579
Abstract: The invention is a clothes shopping cart that is designed to hold a substantial number of clothing and accessory items for a shopper in department and clothing stores. The cart moves about easily and provides the shopper with the ability to load up the cart with goods as a shopper wheels the cart about through the department store aisles. The clothing shopping cart is designed for ease of parking in conjunction with other carts. The cart uses a U shaped base and a storage space that is oriented to allow the carts to nest with each other. The cart is constructed to permit a substantial number or items to be placed in the cart prior to purchase while allowing for an adequate amount of room between the cart and aisles of the ordinary department store, so that a plurality of cars can move in and about the department store.

  • Patent number: 5199358
Abstract: The invention is a novel transit system in which vehicles are piggybacked onto electrically operated upper sled modules for longer distances or between critical high volume areas such as city centers and airports. The front wheels of the Electric vehicles (EVs) in this system are carried on an upper sled module which is connected by a strut or fin to a lower airfoil wing travelling in a generally below grade duct or conduit. The EV uses its own power to move the articulated unit from co-axial AC and DC motors supplemented by a parallel power supply and signals system. Vehicles mounted on the sled units are automatically spaced in response to central computerized timing and speed controls so as to ensure proper separation of vehicles using the guideway. Piggy backed vehicles can quit the guideway at predetermined nodal points to revert to conventional vehicular travel on the public highway system.

  • Patent number: 5184249
Abstract: The invention relates to an improved electric kaleidoscope which uses an electric motor to provide a continuous, smooth turning operation to the end cap assembly of the kaleidoscope, thus eliminating the tiring, awkward and jerky manual turning of kaleidoscopes. The main tube of the kaleidoscope has a housing that contains the electric motor, switch and wiring to power and turning of the end cap assembly. The end cap assembly of the kaleidoscope is removeable as is the end cap assembly cover of the end cap assembly, thus providing an easy means of changing the various colors and shapes of viewing objects in the object space of the end cap assembly. The removeable end cap assembly cover, which can be screw-on, snap-on or push-on type, allows the operator to change the end cap lens by inserting a clear lens to view the immediate surroundings in a kaleidoscopic display, or inserting a somewhat opaque lens and view objects in the object space to view an infinite variety of internally generated images or designs.

  • Patent number: 5179739
Abstract: A toilet flushing apparatus designed to prevent excess loss of water that may happen when the flush valve stays open as the inlet valve is putting water into the tank. The initial flushing lifts the flush valve which acts in conjunction with a counter-weight and controller arm attached to the float ball arm. The controller arm supports the float ball and thus allows the intake valve to remain in the closed position until the flush valve has closed completely, at which time the float ball is lowered and water is let in to the tank.
