  • Patent number: 4404426
Abstract: 1. Apparatus for producing multiple combinations of parallel output binary signals for controlling an anti-jam or other form of telegraphy system comprising four parallel feedback shift registers, a pair of serial to parallel converters, each having an input terminal, means for combining the output signals of said shift registers for producing two separate serial signals, means for coupling one of said serial signals to the input terminal of one of said converters, means for coupling the other of said serial signals to said input terminal of the other of said converters and means for changing the output signal of one of said converters when said separate signals are identical for a predetermined number of binary digits, said feedback shift registers having pluralities of separate stages and a feedback mixer having input terminals connected to the last and certain other three of said stages, and an output terminal connected to the first of said stages.

  • Patent number: 4401033
Abstract: A self-plumbing, counter-rotating trolley and track suspension system for supporting an operable wall panel is disclosed. The suspension system comprises a trolley assembly, including a pendant bolt to provide a common axle on which a pair of counter-rotating discs are rotatably mounted in spaced apart alignment. The track-contacting surface of each disc is spherically formed, with each surface generated from a common centerpoint but having unequal radii so that the surfaces generated by the radii have curvatures which are similar but are not congruent. The suspension system also includes a track having a pair of vertically spaced and diametrically arranged rails, each rail defining a cylindrical surface which is generated from the same common centerpoint of that of the discs, the locus of which lies above the rail-contacting surface of the upper disc.

  • Patent number: 4395854
Abstract: A universal latch means for a drop seal assembly which is adapted for mounting to the lower end of a movable wall assembly, is disclosed. The drop seal assembly includes a universal latch means mounted on each end thereof for releasibly coupling each adjacent drop seal assembly in longitudinal alignment and in which each panel is locked from transverse relative movement. The latch means includes an alternating tongue and groove so that the tongue of one latch means nests into the complimentary groove of the adjacent latch means to releasibly lock each adjacent drop seal in longitudinal alignment and each panel is locked against vertical, horizontal and transverse movement.

  • Patent number: 4393523
Abstract: A tub filling and shower fitting having a change-over valve means is operatively coupled to tub spout inlet whereby the change-over valve means is shifted from a tub mode to a shower mode by swivelling of the tub inlet spout.

  • Patent number: 4378029
Abstract: This mixing valve for a single spout, single handle faucet provides a stationary valve seat (24) having two fluid apertures, and a valve plate (28), relatively rotatable with respect to the valve seat and pressed against the valve seat surface. The valve plate has a generally central aperture (31) and a peripheral aperture (or bight) (30). The arcuate half-circle shape of the downstream outlets (27 and 27A) of the valve seat hot and cold fluid apertures in combination with the placement and shape of the apertures in the valve plate allows the mixing valve to be adaptable to use with either a knob (53) or lever-type (59) control handle and in back-to-back plumbing installations by simply rotating the valve plate 180.degree. relative to the valve seat upon installation.

  • Patent number: 4374635
Abstract: A mold unit and method for casting ceramic material in slip form is described. Each mold unit comprises a plurality of parts which when assembled for a casting operation define between them, two casting cavities, the casting cavities are positioned one above the other, into which slip can be introduced to form discrete articles and when removed from the mold while in the green condition are assembled to form a composite article.

  • Patent number: 4364523
Abstract: This disclosure relates to a flow control device in which the discharge from the nozzle is kept at essentially the same volume rate of flow in spite of fluctuations in the hydraulic pressure upstream from the device by providing a spray body that has a group of radially disposed channels which are perpendicular to the general direction of flow. A flexible spray control washer spaced upstream from these channels responds to hydraulic pressure by pressing into the channels and restricting the flow area of each of these channels in proportion to the applied hydraulic pressure. In this way, the flow area within the chamber is inversely related to the hydraulic pressure in order to maintain a continuous volume rate of flow through the device.
