  • Patent number: 5427475
Abstract: A corrective trenchless pipeline installation method basically includes the operational steps of, first, forming a substantially irregular initial pilot hole underground in earthen matter between a pair of spaced entry and exit pits formed in the earthen matter, second, reforming the substantially irregular initial pilot hole into a substantially straight corrected pilot hole, third, reaming the corrected pilot hole to provide an expanded straight pilot hole, and, fourth, pulling a pipeline through the expanded corrected pilot hole. In reforming the irregular initial pilot hole to the straight corrected pilot hole a cutter blade is concurrently reciprocated back and forth through the irregular pilot hole and rotated relative to the irregular pilot hole to form the corrected straight pilot hole therefrom.

  • Patent number: 5425416
Abstract: A formation injection tool disposable in a casing of a production well includes an intake flow control assembly, a seal mechanism located below the intake flow control assembly, and a discharge flow control device located below the seal mechanism. The intake flow control assembly is attached to a lower end of a pump extending downward within the well casing past and below an upper productive formation. In response to an upstroke of the pump, the intake flow control assembly permits one-way flow of undesired heavier fluid, such as water, from the upper productive formation downwardly and into the intake flow control assembly concurrently as desired lighter fluid, such as oil and/or gas, flows from the upper productive formation upwardly within the well casing to the ground surface. The seal mechanism establishs a closure seal within the well casing between the upper productive formation and lower disposal formation.

  • Patent number: 5425960
Abstract: A legume rehydration control apparatus and method employ a buoyancy restraint device, a buoyancy detection device, and a plurality of latch devices. The buoyancy restraint device is adapted to evenly submerge and hold dried legumes in a vat of rehydration liquid at a level below the level of the liquid in the rehydration vat and to allow the liquid to rise past the restraint device and above the level of the legumes through a sufficient distance to provide an ample supply of liquid to accommodate the rehydration of the dried legumes. The buoyancy detection device is connected to the buoyancy restraint device and adapted to detect the change in buoyancy of the legumes by monitoring the upward and downward movement of the restraint device relative to the rehydration vat and thereby the change in the buoyancy of the legumes which underlie the restraint device.
