  • Patent number: 4071722
Abstract: A latch and switch interlock safety structure includes an electronic circuit module having a switch normally biased in an OFF state. Regardless of the switch state, upon insertion and removal of the module into a support frame, the latch mechanism interacts with the switch interlock to ensure removal of electrical power to the module. Only after the module is properly mated with the frame can the switch be actuated to its ON state.

  • Patent number: 4062614
Abstract: An insulation piercing slotted beam connector includes a central base portion which is bifurcated at one end. Each of the furcations has a chisel-like cutting edge at its tip which enables the terminal to pierce through insulation covering a conductor so that the insulation remains intact along an outer edge. The base portion also includes provision whereby the bifurcated end can advantageously laterally yaw upon engagement with the insulation covered conductor to properly align the terminal with an offset conductor for a gastight connection.

  • Patent number: 4061410
Abstract: An identification device for a printed circuit board, having a plurality of wirewrap terminals, includes a base portion and a plurality of flexibly mounted, raised identification projections. The base portion has provision therein for securing the device to spaced-apart rows of generally parallel terminals. When the device is in place, the flexible mounting arrangement for the identification projections permits ready access by a wirewrap tool.

  • Patent number: 4046972
Abstract: An electronic key telephone station set includes a plurality of nonlocking line selection buttons. Adjacent each button is a pair of light emitting diode lamps, one for indicating which line selection button has been actuated and one for indicating which ones of other lines having an appearance on the station set are in use. Digital data coupled to and from the station set control the activation of the indicating lamps as well as the type of alerting signal generated to indicate an incoming call. Numerous other features may be advantageously implemented under data stream control.

  • Patent number: 4040701
Abstract: A connector block for terminating unprepared communication service wires is disclosed. Pairs of spaced-apart, laterally offset, quick-connect terminals make electrical connections with opposite sides of insulation covered electrical conductors comprising the service wire when the wire is inserted into the connector block and the terminals and conductors are urged into engagement with one another.

  • Patent number: 4032212
Abstract: A strand adapter for mechanically and electrically coupling aerial closures and cable terminals to a messenger cable is disclosed. The adapter is configured such that a range of messenger cable sizes can be advantageously accommodated. In addition, the adapter includes provisions for diminishing rotation during installation thereby simplifying the procedures for coupling aerial closures and cable terminals to a messenger cable.

  • Patent number: 3996514
Abstract: Measurement of the contact resistance between printed circuit patterns on a circuit board and contacts within a circuit board connector is facilitated by apparatus for gaining access to the measurement points without disruption of the electrical connections between the circuit board and the connector. The apparatus includes an electrically insulated handle to which is affixed a pair of finger probes and a pair of length-adjustable pogo probes. The finger probes engage a conductor finger on the circuit board and make electrical contact therewith. Correspondingly, the pogo probes engage a contact within the connector and make electrical contact with it. Application of a known constant current through one finger and one pogo probe and measurement of the voltage appearing between the other finger and pogo probe yields the contact resistance between the conductor finger and the connector contact without disruption of the electrical connection therebetween.
