  • Patent number: 4194532
Abstract: A valve controls fluid flow to a fluid jack by movement of a single valve spool to a first position. A check valve and bypass valve cooperate to pass fluid exhausted from the fluid jack to a tank bypassing the single valve spool. Movement of the bypass valve is controlled by developing a controlled pressure drop between the fluid in the fluid jack and the fluid between the check valve and the single valve spool in response to the valve spool being moved to a second position.

  • Patent number: 4182195
Abstract: A lock assembly (10) selectively moves and/or maintains a transmission shift control (11) at a neutral position for preventing inadvertent shifting of the transmission. A lever (13) of the transmission shift control (11) is movable in an arcuate pathway between forward and reverse drive positions and through a neutral position intermediate the forward and reverse drive positions. A crank (23) has first and second lever engaging portions (28,29) on a member (27) which is rotatable between a first position at which the lever (13) is free to move between the first and second positions and a second position at which the lever engaging portions (28,29) engage and maintain the lever (13) at the neutral position.

  • Patent number: 4181482
Abstract: A body having rubber material thereon is positioned on a lower member, and an upper member is moved toward the lower member, such relative movement causing tread-forming shoes to move to inward positions to form a tread on the rubber material. As an alternative, the upper and lower members may be brought together, and rubber material may be injected into position to have a tread formed thereon. Upon movement of the upper and lower member relatively apart, the rubber material is made to remain in contact with the shoes, and the body is removed, whereupon an annular core having rubber material thereon is disposed on the lower member, and the upper and lower members are again brought together to deposit the rubber material in contact with the shoes onto the rubber material on the core.

  • Patent number: 4181169
Abstract: A rim for a pneumatic tire carcass has a pair of rim portions which are securable together to form such rim. One rim portion is integral with a wheel hub and includes a plurality of pockets or guide openings formed therein. The other rim portion includes guide members which correspond to these pockets and which are positionable therein to position the rim portions relative to each other. Apparatus for separating the rim portions with the tire carcass mounted on them is disclosed, as is apparatus for pulling the tire carcass off a rim portion after the other rim portion has been separated therefrom. In another embodiment, a pair of rim portions are assembled by positioning posts fixed on one rim portion into angled slots defined by the other rim portion, and rotating one rim portion relative to the other, the posts being drawn into the slots during such rotation to draw the rim portions together.

  • Patent number: 4177027
Abstract: Apparatus includes a rigid mold body and an expandable bladder associated therewith. The bladder is inflatable and expandable to form and press sand core material between itself and the mold body while exerting uniform compressive force over the total surface area of the core material thereby forming a portion of a hollow core of precise external dimension and uniform overall strength. Roll-restraining hoop members can be molded into the sand core at the surface facing the axis of the annulus. A pair of such cores forms a hollow core with two sets of hoops on which a tube-tire is formed.

  • Patent number: 4146053
Abstract: A fill and vent valve assembly has a bore in a first member and a cylindrical stem of a second member positioned within the bore. A blind bore extends inwardly from an inner end of the stem and has an internal threaded section. First and second passages in the stem communicate the blind bore with a passage device which communicates the bore of the first member with a fluid chamber. A fill valve has an external threaded section threaded into the internal threaded section of the stem and is movable between a first position at which a valve seat of the valve is in sealing engagement with the inner end of the stem and the first and second passages are blocked from communication with ambient and a second position at which the valve seat is spaced from the inner end and the second passage is in communication with ambient for purging air from the fluid chamber in response to fluid being forced through the fill valve and into the fluid chamber through the first passage.

  • Patent number: 4141280
Abstract: A first control valve of a fluid circuit connecting a first pump to a fluid motor has a signal port in communication with an inlet port when the first control valve is at a selected position at which substantially the total output of the first pump is directed to the motor. A valve device connects a second pump to the fluid circuit in response to a valve spool of the first control valve being moved to said selected position. The valve device has a valve member movable between a first position at which the second pump is in communication with a tank and a second position at which the output of the second pump is combined with the output of the first pump in the fluid circuit. A device moves the valve member to the second position in response to the valve spool of the first control valve being moved to said selected position. The device includes first and second actuation devices associated with the first and second ends of the valve member.
