Abstract: A termination system which attaches a conventional threaded rod or bolt to a cable. An anchor is attached to an end of a cable using known techniques—such as potting. A threaded rod or bolt is placed on the anchor, pointing away from the direction of the cable. The rod or bolt is mechanically attached to the anchor using several different techniques. The result is an anchor assembly including a threaded protruding shaft. Because the assembly uses an inexpensive prior art rod or bolt, the machining operations are confined to small components needing relatively little material removal.

Abstract: A method of optimizing log truck productivity utilizing technology allowing the entry of log truck orders from the field. The present invention generally seeks to improve productivity by (1) minimizing the distances log trucks drive with empty loads and (2) improving coordination between groups of log truck drivers and groups of log loaders to allow for more efficient cross-servicing between the parties. Using the load input device, a loader operator in the field enters a “load ticket” that specifies a mill destination, a desired pickup time for the truck to arrive at the logging site and a desired trailer configuration type. This order is transmitted to a server where it is a received into a centralized application or server. A computer running optimization software can match the load with available trucks or trucks about to become available.
Abstract: A combination slicing and dicing food processing device. The device generally includes a cutting box and gliding body which travels back and forth across the cutting box. The gliding body features a food cradle that is configured to hold a food product which is to be processed. The food cradle is attached on one end of a principal cutting arm and a handle is attached to the other end of the principal cutting arm. A secondary cutting arm is provided beneath and attaching to the principal cutting arm. A ram is provided on the end of the secondary cutting arm and positioned slightly behind the food cradle so that the rain trails the food cradle as the food gliding body travels back and forth across the cutting box. The cutting box includes a principal cutting blade near one end and a process slot for receiving slices of the food product which are sliced off by the principal cutting blade.
Abstract: A new gaming tool and method of game play including an unconventional deck of playing-cards not employing symbolic relations, but rather employing actual relations between rectilinear geometric regions. The playing-cards preferably employ geometric interactions of reflection, complementarity, contrariety, and identity. Geometric card properties that further enhance game play include figure-ground reversibility, handedness, rotational transformation, and perpendicular association. Indexing indicia are optionally provided so that the user can easily visualize the rectilinear geometric regions on a playing card by looking at only the corner of the card.
Abstract: A mixing syringe having a first sealed chamber containing a powder (powder housing) and a second sealed chamber containing a liquid (liquid housing). When the user needs to inject a patient, he or she holds the mixing syringe approximately upright and depresses a plunger. This motion causes a piercer to pierce a foil seal separating the two chambers. The liquid then drops down into the powder housing. The liquid flows through a passage in a piston located in the powder housing, where it then comes in contact with the powder itself. As the user continues pressing the plunger downward, the piercer comes to rest within the piston and seals the passage through the piston, thereby locking the piercer and piston together. The device is then ready for an injection. As the plunger is further depressed the piston expels the powder and liquid mixture through a needle.

Abstract: A new method for collecting and dispensing cut crops. The feed crop is cut as in the prior art. A vacuum is used to lift the dried feed crop off the ground and blow it into a mobile storage container. The feed is allowed to compress under its own weight within the storage container. Three or more harvesting cycles can be used to completely fill the storage container. Multiple containers can be used to harvest large feed crops. The containers are then parked in a convenient location awaiting winter. When winter arrives, the feed containers are towed to the feeding area. Doors in the lower portion of the containers are opened to allow access to the feed.
Abstract: New emergency settings for a cellular telephone. The emergency settings allow the user to access emergency instructional information from their cellular telephone when the user is an emergency situation. In the preferred embodiment sets of sequential procedural instructions are programmed into the internal memory of the cellular telephone for various emergency situations. A selection means is provided for the user to allow the user to select the set of sequential procedural instructions that is desired. When the user makes the selection, a function recalls the instructions from the internal memory and displays the instructions to the user.
Abstract: A device for transferring the drawn weight of a bowstring from a user's bowstring gripping hand to a user's bow gripping hand. The device includes a shaft and a means for releasably connecting the bowstring to the device, such as a trigger release. The device also includes a transfer grip which has a gripping portion configured to be grasped by the user's bow gripping hand together with the bow grip when the user draws the device and bowstring to the drawn position. In the preferred embodiment, a handle is used on one end of the shaft and the trigger release is attached to the handle so that the user can use their bowstring gripping hand to draw the device together with the bowstring to the drawn position and then actuate the release of the bowstring using the trigger of the trigger release. A receiver is also provided for receiving the shaft of the device when the device is drawn from the undrawn position to the drawn position.
Abstract: A gripping assistive device which can be used by an individual to utilize various utensils. The device generally includes a handle with a bore passing through the interior. An appendage attaches to the handle and extends outwardly from the handle transversely from the bore. A fastening device such as a screw clamp is employed on the appendage so that the various utensils can be attached to the appendage. A second screw clamp may optionally be employed on one end of the handle so that utensils can be attached directly to the handle. An optional strap for fastening the device to the individual's hand and an optional extension can be provided for individuals with limited arm range mobility.
Abstract: A winch drum drive system for controlling a kite. The winch drum drive system includes spools for winding an unwinding kite control lines and a set of planetary gears rotatably attached to one end of each of the spools. A ring gear wraps around each set of planetary gears so that the internal perimeter of the ring gear is meshed with each of the planetary gears in the set. The ring gear includes a set of external teeth so that it may be meshed with a second ring gear corresponding to a different spool. A ring drive gear is meshed with one of the ring gears, so that when power is sent to the ring drive gear the ring gears rotate in different directions. A sun gear is positioned between and meshed with each set of planetary gears. A sun drive gear is placed between and meshed with the sun gears so that when power is sent to the sun drive gear, the sun gears rotate in the same direction.
