  • Patent number: 6626036
Abstract: A system for calibrating the fill times of clutches using a pressure transducer service tool includes attaching the tool to an electronic controller on the vehicle and the a clutch hydraulic fluid line, signaling the controller to calibrate the clutch, then removing the service tool. The tool is sequentially moved from one clutch hydraulic line to another to calibrate several clutches. A single service tool with several transducers and a means of switching between them may also be used. The process is automated and the controller signals the user when to make the various connections. The operator then signals the controller when the connections have been made and calibration commences automatically.

  • Patent number: 6626028
Abstract: A hydraulic leakage rate testing device for testing hydraulic components has two circuits, a filling circuit that fast-fills the component with hydraulic fluid and a leakage circuit that measures the leakage rate of fluid flow through the component. The filling circuit is first connected to the component to fill the component. Once full, flow through the filling circuit is blocked and flow to the component is provided by the leakage circuit, which includes a leakage flow rate measuring device. The filling circuit provides a flow rate that is at least twice the flow rate provided through the leakage circuit.

  • Patent number: 6619451
Abstract: A control system is utilized for the starting and running-down of a PTO shaft on an agricultural vehicle, such as a tractor. The hydraulically actuated clutch, as well as the other parts and sub-assemblies connected with the clutch as part of the drive, attain a maximum service life under all conditions of use. The control system, both in normal operating mode and also in management operating mode, protects the cardan shaft against destruction through too great an angle of flexion. Finally, in the management mode of operation, the control system prevents the occurrence of a loss of time, which would reduce the effective time of use of the tractor with the tool in question, and renders impossible a stalling of the engine when starting the PTO shaft through too early ground contact of the tool, in which the PTO shaft is not yet turning.

  • Patent number: 6615569
Abstract: A control system for an agricultural harvester having a frame and a header. The header attaches to a feeder which connects the header to the harvester, and header to feeder attaching point has a position which is adjustable relative to the frame. In at least one mode, when an operator raises the feeder above a predetermined height, the control system automatically levels the header to the frame of the harvester, even though the header was being operated manually in a lowered position. The control system includes a feeder housing limit switch that indicates when the operator raises the feeder above a predetermined height. When operating in the automatic centering mode, the header tilt control module compares the centering signal and the balance signal to automatically level the header relative to the frame of the harvester.

  • Patent number: 6601665
Abstract: A utility vehicle is provided with a bogey beam on which are mounted the steering axle at the forward end of the bogey beam and the middle axle on the rearward end of the bogey beam. A rear drive axle is supported by the frame of the utility vehicle. The bogey beam is connected to the frame by a pivot assembly defining a transverse pivot axis about which the bogey beam can oscillate. The weight transferred to the bogey beam is proportionately distributed between the front steering axle and middle axle. As a result, the steering characteristics of the steering axle are not impaired by the imposition of a load in the load bed of the utility vehicle, as the middle axle cannot be loaded sufficiently to overpower the front steering axle. The middle axle is rotatably driven by the rear drive axle.
